TT- Dangled Over Hell

Thankful Thursday is at Laurie's of Women Taking A Stand and then over to Grace Alone for March and back here in April.

Today I'm going to share a story from a woman who recently emailed me. This story is fascinating. So here is her email to me:

Lynn, You are very welcome, and oddly enough, Lynn is the name of the friend I wrote about. I thought this e-mail was from her at first. One thing I did not share, because I thought some might find it offensive, is the last prayer I remember praying for her husband before he was saved. We were at a home meeting, and Lynn had been through a particularly bad episode with him...and was hurrying to get home at the time HE had appointed. If she was late, that meant no more prayer meetings! As different ones in the group began to pray for them...again...something just rose up within me.

When the others were finished, I prayed and simply asked God to hang him over hell and show him what his eternity would be like without Jesus! Everyone seemed a bit startled, and I was afraid I was definitely in the flesh on that one!

Long story short...not long after that prayer, maybe less than a month, it's hard to remember...he had a MASSIVE heart attack. Lynn was working at the time, and when she arrived at the ER, the first thing he told her was that he had been held over hell...and he could see the flames and feel the torment, and KNEW that's where he was going without Jesus.

He asked her to call our pastor, whom he absolutely hated, and have him come to the ER right then, not later, but NOW and pray with him! He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Saviour, became best friends with the pastor and his family [really], and his transformation amazes me still, so many years later!

Sadly, he's not doing well physically, he's a kidney transplant patient and Lynn's kidneys were a match for him...which is another miracle, because rarely is a spouse a suitable donor. But the transplant was over sixteen years ago, and his body is simply wearing out. He's in the hospital now, but when he and Lynn came to visit us for my birthday a few weeks ago, he had a request for me...

Would I pray for his son the way I prayed for Him? He has asked me many times over the years did I REALLY pray for God to hang him over hell? And, when I answer yes, he just smiles and says thank you.

I do apologize for such a long e-mail, and I hope you won't think I am a crazy woman! I truly have a great reverence for God and I do NOT take such things lightly, and I know some people might misunderstand such a prayer. Therefore, I don't share this testimony with many people...but it truly is a beautiful testimony of God's saving power and His faithfulness. May God strengthen and encourage you as you continue to stand in prayer for your husband and others.

---

I want to thank Marsha for sharing her story. It is bold of her to share it. I am so thankful this TT for the prayers of the Saints and more so for the power of God that is displayed through answered prayer.

So, do we dare pray such a prayer for our spouse??? This is indeed a truly dangerous prayer. Thoughts. Lynn

Thankful Thursday - Serving the Kingdom

Thankful Thursday is hosted here at Spiritually Unequal Marriage in January. Don't forget that next Thursday we will all meet up for Thankful Thursday at Laurie's of Women Taking A Stand and then over to Grace Alone for March.

I have been richly blessed to host Thankful Thursday. I haven't been around to read your online friends posts but I WILL get there, God willing.

This Thursday, I am utterly thankful for allowing Dineen and I to share our stories of God's healing in our spiritually mismatched marriage with the world.

Our book, Winning Him Without Words, will be released on February 17th. We are in earnest prayer that our message will save marriages, encourage women to grow in their relationship with Jesus and mostly that the name of JESUS CHRIST is glorified.

If you know a woman who is living unequally yoked, they are lonely, they feel misunderstood and are struggling quietly. Please send them to us. We will pick them up, dust them off and give them a Wild Hope they need to move forward in their marriage and their journey toward heaven.

I can't begin to thank Jesus enough for the chance to serve His Kingdom.

How do you serve God's Kingdom? Is it through your church, through your online ministry, is it by serving your family and your husband? Give thanks to Jesus and let's celebrate all the good things God works for our good and His glory.

Praising Him. Lynn

PS. Stop back in February as we start a new series: How to make your husband your boyfriend. This will be hilarious yet practical as well as perfect timing leading up to Valentine's Day. Also, we will be launching a brand new website the second week of February. Cool Free stuff, stories, information and a bunch of other stuff. Stop in and visit with me.~ Hugs, Lynn

Thankful Thursday - Online Community

Thankful Thursday is hosted here at Spiritually Unequal Marriage in January. WOO HOO!

In February we move to Laurie of Women Taking A Stand and then over to Grace Alone for March.

Tomorrow my BFF, Dineen Miller, my co-writer and co-author, the one who listens to my problems, the one who puts up with my zany blondness, the one who forgives me when I miss a deadline, the woman who knowns me well and loves me anyway, will be flying into town for a short visit.

WOO HOO!

Some of you may know this but many of you don't, Dineen and I have written together on this blog for almost five years (May). We wrote a book together and we have an active prayer ministry for so many who need prayer for their marriage. She and I have partnered for over four years yet we hadn't spent more than two minutes with each other face-t-face until just this past August.

THAT is the power of the community of God on the internet. We worked together in one accord and for the Lord without spending any time together in the same room.

Dineen is visiting because we are frantically working to finish some of the details for our upcoming book publication. We must finish some video stuff together. We have a jam-packed schedule and we will LOVE every minute of it and treasure the time we have together face-to-face.

We would LOVE IT if you would join us for a cup of coffee, some of our zany stories, a peek at what's coming up next,  LIVE THIS Friday morning 11:30 Eastern/ 8:30 Pacific) for our online show, The Intentional Marriage. It's going to be in my kitchen (I hope I can figure out the logistics) and it's going to be a hoot.

Today, I'm utterly amazed yet delighted God could form a deep and everlasting friendship over the internet. I am richly blessed with many of these friendships with you.

Thank you Lord for my online community and friends. THEY are the treasures in my crown that I cast at your feet.

How about you. Is there an online friend who you treasure? I'm looking forward to visiting you and finding out out who your online BFF is and why.

Thankful Thursday - Significance

Thankful Thursday is hosted here at Spiritually Unequal Marriage in January. WOO HOO!

In February we move to Laurie of Women Taking A Stand and then over to Grace Alone for March.

Now that 2011 is a few weeks old, your zeal about new beginnings and potential is waning. You still have piles of laundry waiting, kids shouting at you, demands on your time and you feel lost.... once again. You might feel like your hope for something new is diminished and you feel forgotten or unappreciated.

That's the January Blues. A not so uncommon occurrence.

So, this is EXACTLY the time you need to hear this:

"A woman's high calling as God's image bearer renders her incapable of insignificance, no matter what has gone wrong in her life or how much she has lost. Even if her community shoves her aside, turns a deaf ear to the sound of her voice, or regards her as invisible-even if she is forced into a passive role in the community she remains vital to God's purposes and is a solid contributor anyway. She simply cannot be stopped." Carolyn Curtis James, "The Gospel According to Ruth" - Zondervan, 2008

Press on we serve God Almighty and He is our significance. I'm hushed to whispers of thanks that God sees me. I am incapable of insignificance.

What are you thankful for this week? I'm looking forward to visiting all of you. Also, if you know other bloggers who would like to give thanks this Thursday, please invite them to join us this week. I love to meet new friends. Take time to visit a few of the other participants and...... no matter what, you serve a God who values your roll in your life. Be blessed, Lynn

Thankful Thursday - A Fresh Beginning

Thankful Thursday is hosted here at Spiritually Unequal Marriage in January. WOO HOO!

In February we move to Laurie of Women Taking A Stand and then over to Grace Alone for March.

It's Thankful Thursday.

This week the online community here at SUM has been fasting. For an ENTIRE WEEK. (Can you hear the stomach grumblings around here?) We started Sunday and will conclude on Friday. We are seeking to know our Lord more intimately and are expecting to hear His voice for the year ahead.

One of the things we did was to complete a Top Ten for 2011 and pray over those 10 items and ask God to confirm them or remove them and to show us His plans for our spiritual growth, our marriage, our children and ministry.

So today I'm thankful for a fresh start. January holds such promise of a year lived serving the Kingdom of God. If you missed the chance to join in the prayer and fasting with us, no worries. Still pray along with us and share one of your Top Ten for 2011. And share one thing that happened in 2010 that you are most thankful for. You can see the Top Ten for 2011 (here).

One of my Top Ten for 2011: To get our new book into the hands of women who need hope for their marriage.

Top 2010 Thankful/Praise: Jesus gave me and Dineen EVERY.... SINGLE..... WORD that we wrote.

I praise you Jesus. I love you with all of my being. You are the reason I live and breathe.

I'm looking forward to visiting with everyone this week. What is your two "Tops?" I can't wait to find out. Also, take a minute and visit two other participants and encourage them this week. Hugs, Lynn

I'm Thankful

It’s two days until Christmas:

I’m thankful our house is clean.

I’m thankful that we had just enough to provide for Christmas.

I’m thankful that we had a tiny bit more to help a few others.

I’m thankful for my Christmas baby, my son Brad, age 28. He shares his birthday with Jesus.

I’m thankful for my husband. He is my hero.

I’m thankful for my teen daughter.

I’m thankful for my little Peanut who is still annoyed with me for tying a Christmas kerchief around his neck.

I’m thankful for everyone who has stopped in here to read and shared a part of themselves with Dineen and me.

I’m thankful for the grace and gift God has given that Dineen and I have a message arriving in February, that is from our heart and covered in prayer, our book Winning Him Without Words.

I’m thankful for Jesus.

I’m thankful and my mind boggles to conceive God would come as a man to save a messed up and needful me.

Thankful Thursday - Twas the Night....

Twas the night before Jesus came and all through the house,

not a creature was praying, not one in the house.

Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care,

in hopes that Jesus would not come there.

The children were dressing to crawl into bed,

not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.

And Mom in her rocker with baby on her lap

was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.

When out of the East there arose such a clatter,

I sprung to my feet to see what was the matter.

Away to the window, I flew like a flash,

tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!

When what to my wondering eyes should appear

but angels proclaiming that Jesus was here!

With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray,

I knew in a moment this must be The Day!

The light of His face made me cover my head;

it was Jesus! returning just like He had said.

And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth,

I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.

In the Book of Life which He held in His hand

was written the name of every saved man,

He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;

When He said, “It’s not here”, my head hung in shame.

The people whose names had been written with love

He gathered to take to His Father above.

With those who were ready He rose without a sound,

while all the rest were left standing around.

I fell to my knees but it was too late;

I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate.

I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;

Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.

This is a poignant poem and tough to read when you are spiritually mismatched. Let the truth of Jesus rapid return, plunge us to our knees this season. There are eternities at stake and Jesus birth and death is what it's all about. Happy Thankful Thursday, Lynn

This December let's all meet up with Iris at Grace Alone in January we are back here at Spiritually Unequal Marriage and February we will be at Laurie's, Women Taking A Stand.

The Christmas Letter

Okay, you usually fall into two camps when it comes to this funny and strange tradition of a family Christmas letter. You love ‘em or hate ‘em.

I LOVE THEM.

Now I know they are usually filled with sickening sweet recollections of all the amazing and fantastic things that occurred in the year and sometimes it’s hard to read those kind of letter’s especially when you had a tough year. Some people like my friend Kathy writes a Christmas letter that often begins with something like this…

Well, the dog was run over and the oldest daughter shacked up…..

It’s real-life and that’s what she writes. I LOVE her letters too. She is hilarious.

No matter what kind of Christmas letter you write, I love to receive them and read every word. I thrill to enjoy the adventures and triumphs in your year. I am thankful for those Christmas cards and letters. They are a joy and a tradition I treasure.

If you love receiving Christmas letters too, write in the comments…. I LOVE CHRISTMAS LETTERS.

You are then entered into a drawing for some really cool prize I have yet to purchase. But you will love it…. I promise.

Also, if you want a Donovan Clan, Family Christmas Letter mailed to your home this season, I would love to mail one to you with a personal thank you for your friendship and to tell you I love you. Email me with your snail mail address Lynn and I will pop one in the mail.

Happy Thankful Thursday this Christmas Season. Be blessed, Lynn

Please, please, please mail your Family Christmas letter to me:

Post Notation: I just went to my mail box and there I found the annual letter from my friend Kathy. It a doozy... a three pager... So, I'm off to the couch for a great read and a belly laugh. Ho -Ho -Ho

Our Season to Shine

This December let's all meet up with Iris at Grace Alone in January we are back here at Spiritually Unequal Marriage and February we will be at Laurie's, Women Taking A Stand.

It's Thankful Thursday. It's December and I joyfully give thanks to the Lord, Almighty for His Son.

What is true about December is, this is month many people soften to the idea of Jesus. They are more willing to hear about Him. They often attend church in December when they won't go any other time. They will listen to the story of the virgin birth and the conclusion with the cross and ressurection.

This is a month of hope.

So, I'm looking past the busyness of the season to see someone who might be open to hear about Jesus. I might send a card in the mail, yes the real mail, to encourage someone this time of year. I may buy a family's lunch or dinner anonymously at a restaurant. I will perhaps drop a bag of groceries on the front porch of a friend who is struggling financially. I may do all of these in hope that they see there are people in this world who step outside of selfishness. That they may see people can be generous and share love and gifts without any expectation in return. In hope that they ask, "Why?"

Why would someone bestow a random act of kindness?

It's because of Jesus.

Matthew 25: 37-40 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Star This is our season to shine. It's right now when people are open to hearing about Jesus. Decide this day, December 1st, to be intentional and reflect Jesus into the lives of others.

Then step back and watch what God will do.

Some of the most impactful moments in my unbelieving spouse's life have been when I randomly pay for a stranger's meal or pay a toll for the car behind me at the toll booth. Small amounts of money. BIG impact on the heart.

Let HIS light shine through our eyes and bring glory to the name of Jesus. It's time to celebrate the birth of the King of Kings!

Have a blessed Thursday and rejoice for unto us us born this day in the city of David, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. ~!Luke 2:11

Giant Hugs and blessings on this Thankful Thursday, Lynn

Thankful Thursday

November are meeting up with Laurie of Women Taking A Stand and then over to Grace Alone in December and back here in January.

I'm so thankful for the opportunity to be a mom. This past week my daughter debut in the lead female role in her High School play. She performs three more time with Saturday night as the closing. My husband's family will be here to watch.

I am thankful to have a daughter who loves Jesus. I'm thankful she is a young woman with her own passions and is discovering her talents and abilities.

So, let me put Hollywood on notice. There is one young woman who can act and be a Christian at the same time. So look out! *grin*

Well done kiddo! You amaze me. Hugs, Mom

Thankful Thursday

This month, October, we will meet here at Spiritually Unequal Marriage. In November we will all meet up with Laurie of Women Taking A Stand and return to Grace Alone in December.

Can you believe my month as Hostess for Thankful Thursday draws to a close with this post? How quickly our time together passes.

My friends, I have enjoyed visiting your homes this past few weeks and sharing Freedom In Christ week, our joy in Christ: The Pumpkin butt story and the 10 Thing You Didn't Know About Me.

When we take time to give God thanks, we bring Him great honor and glory. Isn't that what living for Jesus is all about?

So, as I wave good-bye as hostess I will ask you to share with me a scripture verse that God is using in your life to craft your character or one that has exposed a lie, a verse that brought you peace or comfort or a passage that has inspired you to draw closer to Jesus.

My life verse: John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit;

apart from me you can do nothing..

Without Christ I believed the lies the world offered. That my life was all about me. Without Christ I lived in frustration, sadness and anger. Turmoil and bitterness were my constant companions.

I am redeemed and today my entire life's purpose is to abide in Christ.

I can't wait to celebrate what God's Word is working out in your life. Leave a link. Visit a few others. Oh, and on November 12th at 11:30 Eastern and 8:30 Pacific I will share with you my all time favorite Thanksgiving family tradition. Stop in and watch our Show as I share A Table Cloth of Thanks. (The Intentional Marriage) I promise, this is a tradition that will bring joy, laughs and love to your home this Thanksgiving and many more to come.

Love you my TT friends. Be blessed, Lynn

Thankful Thursday - 10 Things you don't know about me

This month, October, we will meet here at Spiritually Unequal Marriage. In November we will all meet up with Laurie of Women Taking A Stand and return to Grace Alone in December.

It's Thankful Thursday.

Earlier today I was reading a post by my friend, Lori at Lori's Reflections. She posted a list of things I didn't know about her. It was delightful.

Today, I think we should all post our own list.

So here are ten things you don't know about me.

1. I LOVE to trout fish. I even bait the hook and clean the fish, then fry 'em up, yum and eee. Broken arms

2. You will never, ever, learn my middle name - classified. *grin* (Don't try to find out either.)

3. I broke both my arms in seventh grade.... at the same time.

4. I'm not ticklish. At all. Weird, I know.

5. I love big hooped earings. Wearing some now.

6. I need my momma in my life now at age 50 as much more than I needed her when I was little.

7. I'm age 50. (Can anyone explain to me where my forties went too so fast?)

8. I raised two "only" Children. God knew I could only handle one-at-a-time.

9. I talk to my dog in a funny strange voice. (Should I admit this online?)

10. I care deeply and love The Family of God. (Bet you knew this.)

Post ten things that make you uniquely you.

You are a redeemed child of the King. You are His special creation and your unique characteristics, talents and oddities make you a priceless treasure to Him and to me. I am so thankful to know you my friends.

Be blessed, Lynn

Thankful Thursday - Freedom in Christ!

This month, October, we will meet here at Spiritually Unequal Marriage. In November we will all meet up with Laurie of Women Taking A Stand and return to Grace Alone in December.

Hello My Friends, it’s Thankful Thursday, already, again.

I heart this day.

I love to visit your place. For me, it’s like dropping in on an old and close friend to catch up on your life. What a blessing to see you working in your kitchen, your kids and their antics, your husband who works hard, and your heart for Jesus. It’s a treasured gift to me.

So glad to welcome you back to my home today.

I have to tell you I was tickle by all your comments last week about the pumpkin butt. Laughing Lady said this: Please tell me you don't have it "mooning" passers-by!

I’m still cackling over this thought. However, I assure you I have spared my neighbors this, ahem, unsightly orange behind. *grin*

As I write this post, I have just returned from our Women’s Bible study. This is week five of Breaking Free by Beth Moore. If you’ve been through this study, you remember that week five is extraordinarily challenging week as we deal with hurts from our childhood. This morning I wept as I could feel the pain in the room as women shared.

But, I also shouted more than once, "AMEN" in agreement that we are NOT defeated.

I can shout in victory because it is for freedom that Christ set us free.

Galatians 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Now shout with me and let’s rejoice:

His power is magnificent and unlimited.

There is nothing He cannot do.

No hurt He cannot heal.

No lie He cannot expose.

No wound He cannot heal.

No bitterness He cannot uproot.

No shackle He cannot break.

Womjump Amen.

What victories has Christ given you? Let’s thank Him for healing, restoration, salvation.

Looking forward to celebrating with you. Hugs, Lynn

Thankful Thursday -Fall Joy!

This month, October, we will meet here at Spiritually Unequal Marriage. In November we will all meet up with Laurie of Women Taking A Stand and return to Grace Alone in December.

Woo Hoo! It’s Thankful Thursday and today my heart is chock-full of JOY!

Last week, a friend of mine looked at me and said, “Lynn, you radiate joy.” Her words completely took me by surprise. I had no idea that my joy in Christ was visible. NO IDEA! But, what an awesome moment to know that living for Christ shows.

Today, I’m feeling especially giddy. And as it’s my turn to host Thankful Thursday, I want to start this month by sharing JOY!

I don’t know about you, but God gives me a wonderful gift about every three months. He personally, just for me, changes the seasons of weather. Okay, perhaps the changing of the seasons isn’t only for me but on days like today, it feels like it.

I woke this morning to a cool rain. Rejoice, again I say rejoice, because last week, temperatures sweltered past 100 degrees. But this morning, Fall is on full display. The leaves are hinting at yellow on the tree next to the driveway and I have my pumpkins set out in front of the house. The largest pumpkin I grew in my backyard garden in the middle of suburbia.

Here is a photo of me with my pumpkin.

Imported Photos 00134

Now this isn’t any old pumpkin. This pumpkin is special. Do you know why?

It grew a butt. *snicker*

I’m not kidding you. It’s the most hilarious thing I have ever seen. I cut this pumpkin from the vine a few weeks ago, picked it up, turned it around, and then gawked at the thing. I stood dumbfounded then began cackling so loudly from the garden, my husband came running to make sure I hadn't gone mad due to heat stroke.

My husband stopped in his tracks when he spotted the audacious orange rear-end. Then we both broke into gut wrenching hysterics, right there in the back yard. I nearly tee-tee'd my pants.

Mercy!

So, share a giggle with me and celebrate the joy of the changing season. Rejoice, it’s Fall and it’s a captivating gift from God.

By the way, here is the butt.

Imported Photos 00138
Does anyone have some pants for this big boy???

Happy giggles and Happy Thankful Thursday. I can’t wait to read about your joys this week. I pray your heart is also chock-full of joy which radiates to a world in need of Jesus.

Be blessed, Lynn

Thankful Thursday -

Let us give thanks. It is Thankful Thursday.

This month, September, we will share our thanks with Iris of Grace Alone. Next month, October, we will be back here at Spiritually Unequal Marriage and then in November we will all meet up with Laurie of Women Taking A Stand

In bible study last week we talked about a Yoke.

I shared this photo.

Yokecows

Don't you just love cows? They have a docile manner about them and sweet faces.

In our study, we talked about how a yoke is a bonding, such as in this photo. The cows are held together and must walk in union.

In this world, we are yoked to many things. Some good some destructive. But today, I hear my Savior calling.

Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

On this Thursday, I am thankful for Jesus and His promise. I am taking His yoke and will walk where He walks, pet the cows along the way, and rejoice that He will handle my worries for today.

Be Blessed, Lynn

Thankful Thursday - A Glimpse of the Supernatural

Let us give thanks. It is Thankful Thursday.

This month, September, we will share our thanks with Iris of Grace Alone. Next month, October, I can't believe I'm talking October, we will be back here at Spiritually Unequal Marriage and then in November we will all meet up with Laurie of Women Taking A Stand

So, I have to share this experience with you or I’m just going to burst.

Our church has a missions person, her name is Lisa. She is a woman after God’s own heart. She is passionate about telling people about Jesus. Right now, she is in the country of Nepal along with another member of our church, Simon.

These two from our church are teaching alongside two Nepalese Christians. Last night as they were gathered for teaching in a large group of the Nepalese people about 800 or so, something absolutely amazing happened. During this service, the two men who are Christians from Nepal were in the audience and were actually bringing healing to some of the people and there were some demonic forces that were being fought against and cast out…. (I know. This sounds wild. Like right out of the Bible)

Well as this was going on my friends Lisa and Simon were on the stage along with one of the native guys who is a Christian. In the middle of the teaching this guy stops and says….. Now get this…

“Here comes the power of God.”

He felt it descending upon them.

In that second, my friend Lisa’s eyes rolled into the back of her head. Her entire body stiffened as straight as a board and she fell straight back on the floor. Simon, rushed to her to help her but the Christian Nepalese guy said, “NO, don’t touch.”

Lisa remained unconscious for four minutes.

When she finally came to consciousness, she told Simon, “I went to the throne room of God.”

Did you get that?

She then, left the stage and went into the audience to the people out there whom God showed her and she began to do healing as well.

Simon called his wife last night and that is how I got the story. Lisa said, “I will never be the same. This changes everything.”

Simon told his wife that the principalities of the darkness are everywhere and more prevalent than we know here in America. He said to her and to us, “Just pray…. Pray against the powers of the darkness.”

I am sharing this with you because I want you to know just how powerful our God is. He has given to us the ability to fight the powers of darkness, to call down the power of God and He is begging us to do so.

I burst into tears as this story was told to me today and I have begged God to teach me how to pray. To really pray. To live constantly in the spirit and……

Rock my world so radically that I will never be the same.

We need God and we just need to let go of all the small stuff we are desperately clutching at, trying to control, then stand back as someone shouts,

“Here comes the power of God.”

Are you ready? I’m ready and I am scared but I want to visit that throne room and live a radically changed life.

Love you my friends. Let Jesus bring your healing this very hour. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Hugs, Lynn

Iris, in her Thankful Thursday post this week, talks about how she prays before getting in the car to drive. Boy howdy, do I understand that. Just this morning a mom was texting while we waited for the light to change. Texting is illegal in our state.

The light changed.

We sat.

Finally I had to beep her to get going. Oi vey!

Today, I join Iris to give thanks for the peace that fills my spirit when I bring my prayers to the throne room. This week as our teen daughter settles into her Sophomore year in High School and it's typical for the few weeks into school that she is experiencing "friends drama."

Navigating social relationships in High School can be exasperating, hurtful and joyful. This week, we've had more of the frustrating and hurtful. So, we pray. In the car this morning we prayed. (Don't worry, I can pray with my eyes open and driving)

This time in the car places a peace in my girl and bestows peace over my mama's heart. I join Iris to give thanks to the Lord for the absolutel priviledge of prayer and the knowledge that He indeed, will watch after the entire contents of my heart while she's at school.

What are you thankful for? Happy Thankful Thursday. Be blessed, Lynn

PS. If you have time, hop over to Laced With Grace and share my Rapture story. BIG hugs, Lynn

Thankful Thursday

Let us give thanks. It is Thankful Thursday.

This month, August, we are all meeting up with Laurie of Women Taking A Stand and in September we will share our thanks with Iris of Grace Alone

This week my heart is full.

I work with some of the MOST amazing women in our church office. I tell you what, working in the office of our large church has opened my eyes. The people who work there are under paid and over worked. They deal with life and death problems and the fates of eternities.

They love Jesus and work tirelessly in the face of complaints about the donuts or the coffee, or the bathrooms, or the music or ..... or...... and..... and....

But, they love Jesus and they serve. I count it an amazing blessing to be on the team of Women's Ministry. These women I work with are amazing mothers, wives and servants of Jesus. They care deeply for the healing of the women in our congregation and for their spiritual growth. They give hour upon hour, their personal financial resources and their tears to help other women discover the joy of living for Christ.

So, today I give thanks with a heart filled up for the unusual blessing of working in a church office, even though I am unequally yoked. But mostly I give thanks to our Lord because these friends, like all of you, are my forever family. My eternal family.

I can't wait to hug your necks in heaven. I truly long to meet you. Happy TT. What are you thankful for?

Be blessed, Lynn

Walking with Jesus is always a surprise. He is continually showing me His grace, His work in my life and His desire to help the Saints.

So last Friday I came home from a walk-and-talk with Him and I was filled with a Holy Fire to share some of my spiritual warfare encounters. So, I wrote what He told me.

And, Wow. I'm finding out as believers, we don't talk about this kind of warfare too often. And that many of us have actually experienced it.

I'm so thankful that I followed the prompting of the Holy Spirit and wrote what He told me. If you have time to read the stories here is the link:

This is Real Spiritual Warfare

Spiritual Warfare and our Children

Stop back on Friday for Spiritual Warfare and my Husband.

Praise God from Him we can Fight and WIN! Have a blessed TT. Hugs, Lynn

Lord Almighty,

It was a great privilege to pray with one of my readers over the phone this past week. She prayed with me and for the first time and accepted Jesus, Your Son, as Savior and Lord of her life.

Lord, I am overwhelmed you placed me into that young woman's life to share the hope I have in Christ. The hope we all have in Christ.

Father, so many are in deep pain in their lives right now. And we your church, the believers, have the truth that can set them free. We have the truth that this life is not doable without You. So, Lord, I am available. Choose me. I will pray, I will hurt with them and rejoice with them, I will love on those you send my way.

I am utterly and deeply thankful that you use ordinary people like me in the service of Your Kingdom.

I worship you. I love you. Forever and ever. In the name of my Redeemer, Jesus, I pray and give you thanks. Your humble servant. Lynn

Wow, can you believe July is almost over. I had a blast hosting Thankful Thursday in July. Next month we will meet up with Laurie of Women Taking A Stand and in September we will share our thanks with Iris of Grace Alone

My month of hosting Thankful Thursday is at an end. We will meet back here again in October. Wow, fall is around the corner. Next week let's find each other for another week of praise over at Laurie's place.

Before we leave summer too quickly, I want to share something from my summer with you. Take a look at this photo I snapped a few weeks ago. It a photograph of a morning glory that vines on the little picket fence surrounding my garden.

Imported Photos 00017

It may be difficult to see in this small version but if you click on the photo you can see a larger photo. What I want to show you is the Awe of our God.

Now look at the center. Do you see it? It actually glows. It glows in a brilliant white.

How does God do that?

I am often moved to moments of awe and wonder of our God in the small details of our world. Most people would miss this amazing phenomenon of a glowing flower but I didn't. When I look upon such amazing beauty and mystery, I am moved by the Lord.

I am moved to thank the Creator, my Lord, for the majesty and mystery and magnificence of His creation.

Today, share a photo with me of something that inspires awe in your heart and let's honor the Lord with our worship and thanks. Be blessed, Lynn

PS. I would be so thrilled if you would join me in a few weeks for The Intentional Marriage. It will be on August 13th and I have a challenge for you and your marriage. I promise it will be worth your time. You can write about the challenge on your own blog and link up here.

God created the design of marriage to help us understand His relationship to us and our relationship to Him. That is what The Intentional Marriage is all about. Let's discover more about growing in our love for Jesus and our spouse. See you soon. Lynn

(turn on the speakers because the music is happy *grin*)

Several years ago, I found myself in what I would describe a very real spiritual battle. I had been praying for my unsaved husband and the spiritual warfare over him was intense.

At that time I began to pray for angels to be dispatched from the Lord's throne to my home. To stand guard at every window and door, with their swords drawn ready to fight for me, my husband and our family.

God listened and Wow, what a battle it was. One day I will have to share what happened. Too much for now. I am utterly convinced God dispatched those angels and they have been standing over this home ever since.

But, one of the amazing little miracle that came from that period of time were the doves.

DOVES

In God's Word we learn that after the flood the Lord sent a rainbow as a promise He would never again destroy the world by flood.

Genesis 9:13-15 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.

Now this might seem a little strange but in the same way God has sent a promise to me through the doves.

Dove-on-fence-2Ever since that time of battle, I have noticed that doves are all around. In the late afternoon two doves arrive to sit outside of my kitchen window on the fence. I see them on the back fence from time-to-time as well.

This morning on my jog and praise, I spotted a dove sitting on the light post above the path where I was jogging. And as I finished my jog and was walking toward my home during my cool-down, there it was.... A small dove just walking down the sidewalk in front of me about 20 feet.

If you could have seen me, I burst into the broadest smile and started praising God and thanking Him for the angels that He sent to protect and care for me and my family. (yep, the neighbors think I'm strange)

I can't help but praise the Lord .... out loud.... in the street because He is so very good to me.

Psalm 91:9 If you make the Most High your dwelling— even the LORD, who is my refuge- then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;  they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

How amazing and awesome is that passage? It's true.

What promises has the Lord given you? Let's praise Him for He is a God of promises and promises kept. I can't wait to read your stories. Leave me a comment and link up, then visit at least one other blog. Honor Jesus through our words of praise. Be blessed, Lynn
