I'm just a teeny bit crazy for God, and walk through life asking Him questions at every turn. It is a captivating thing to draw close to Jesus, and I've pursued that while living in a home where there's only one of us believing -- So far.
I’ve been writing for the Spiritually Unequal Marriage (SUM) ministry for a few years now but in 2019 I felt a call to give up my job and go into ministry in some way. It means I’m spending more time here on this blog and on our Facebook page, which is a pleasure. More locally, I coordinate the prayer ministry in my church and speak there every few weeks.
As for my story, well my turning to Jesus was a little surprise. Although I grew up in a church-going home I only came to realize that God was actually real in my late thirties. I was working as a university academic at the time and went from disinterested to captivated. It's not an everyday occurrence for someone in mid adulthood, but when God draws you it's compelling. My husband still had the same disinterest as before. So began our faith difference.
Since then all kinds of things have happened and though it did shake us up all I can say is I love my husband more than ever. Importantly, I write on this blog with his blessing.
If you are ever in our territory, New Zealand, I would love to meet you. We live in Auckland with our two teenage boys and our Persian cat, Gizmo. Please do look me -- us -- up if you fancy a coffee!
