So, We Roll up Our Sleeves as Workers!
March 16, 2021
I hope the past few posts down memory lane have been interesting to you. God loves this community – His SUM family – and wants us to walk in hope!
Wrapping up this series on past words from the archives, I guess I have a couple of thoughts:
It's so important that we never lose hope that faith can sweep into our families, and over our wider circles of friends and family. Every unbeliever in our life is a miracle waiting to happen!
And second, we are to stay alert as ‘Harvesters’, ready to do the work of spreading the Gospel. I for one am rolling up my sleeves afresh, ready for whatever God asks of me next. I'm so interested and keen to see what happens when the dust of COVID settles.
Jesus said:
"The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Luke 10:2).
With all that in mind, I'm going to finish by posting a song, below. It’s an oldie, ‘These are the Days of Elijah’, but for me it’s the song of the moment. These lyrics in particular are relevant to today:
And these are the days of the harvest
The fields are all white in the world
And we are the laborers that are in Your vineyard
Declaring the Word of the Lord
I'll be back on Friday with something a little different. In the meantime, enjoy this song!
Ann
These are the days of Elijah
Declaring the word of the Lord, yeah
And these are the days of Your servant, Moses
Righteousness being restored
These are the days of great trials
Of famine and darkness and sword
Still we are the voice in the desert crying
Prepare ye the way of the Lord!
Say, behold He comes, riding on the clouds
Shining like the sun, at the trumpet's call
Lift your voice, (it's) the year of Jubilee
Out of Zion's hill, salvation comes
And these are the days of Ezekiel
The dry bones becoming as flesh
And these are the days of Your servant, David
Rebuilding the temple of praise
And these are the days of the harvest
The fields are all white in the world
And we are the laborers that are in Your vineyard
Declaring the Word of the Lord
