Okay, I have to tell you…. I’M FREAKED OUT!!!

Dennis Rainey, stops the broadcast and speaks directly to my husband, Mike.

FLT-bannerMy friends, this is the craziest, bestest, radio interview with Dineen and I to date. As I told you yesterday, I was able to listen in before the BIG DAY… And I about fell on the floor when I heard Dennis Rainey start talking to my husband. I had completely forgotten about this exchange. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts about it all.

So, on Monday, THIS MONDAY (Yikes, already), FamilyLife Today with Host, Dennis Rainey and co-Host, Bob Lepine will welcome Dineen and me along with Darla Stone to a three day broadcast, “Married to an Unbeliever.”

Dineen and I are praying that God will help men and women to “happen” on to a radio station exactly when we are on the air to find us at SUM. (oh ya, like it’s a coincidence, *grin*) We know so many are out there who feel alone in this crazy journey of the unequally yoked. We WANT them to find all of us.

We are desperate to tell them that Jesus can and WILL make all the difference in their marriages and their lives and that Jesus brings healing, hope and JOY!

Everyone, this broadcast is also about all of you. We don’t want it to be about us. It is our community which God has blessed. It’s about the love and the power that flows through all of us. So may Dineen and I humbly ask you to help us next week?

Will you please decide today to partner with someone who lands on our site Monday and then again on Tuesday and once more on Wednesday? Will you see some young wife who is brave enough to leave a comment on the site and will you pray for her right there in the comments? Will you give your name and offer your love? Can you tell her you know how she feels? Can you say to her, there is hope? There is always hope because we serve the great God of the universe.

Stop in once, twice or more each day. Pray for more than one newcomer. Pray for each other if you want. Just be present in the comments to love one another. So many of you have come so far in your journey and as you share your love, your testimonies, two amazing things happen in the spiritual realm. One: You OVERCOME… by the word of your testimony and TWO: you give great honor to our Lord.

Do you remember where you were when you first found this online place? So, walk this out with us and share all that God has done in your life.

So I ask you today: Are you in? (Let me know in the comments)

I love you so much. Our Great God is preparing us to ROCK this world. The devil quakes when this community is in action. So let’s kick butt and take some names for the sake of Christ.

Chronicles, Announcements, Updates, Training, Radio... All Rolled Into One.

Hi Everyone, Lynn Here.

Today is an update and it’s likely to be a bit rambling because there is so much going on in my head and life that it’s likely my busy brain will kick something out and I won’t remember to tell you until later in this post.

Please forgive me and Dineen as we feel we have been busy, just like you with relatives, guests and the holiday. We have felt a bit distracted from our love and passion, ALL OF YOU. But, we are here. We have talked on the phone this past week and our love for this community, our prayers and our hearts for you continues to just grow and grow.

Let’s start with our Community Miracle. Gang, WOW just WOW. We raise more than a $1,000 for the Nepali’s first Christmas. Dang, and that was by $5, $10, & $15 donations. There are a lot of good hearts in this community.

I hope you read the thank you from Lisa, (read it here)

Guess who visited the Donovan Clan home for Thanksgiving? My son and his wife, Felicia. Here's a photo.

* I love it that she's a Broncos fan. God is good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They were married in September and my friends a granddaughter on the way next year.

I’m still freaked out to think that soon some little person will be following me around saying, “Grandma.” Oh but I can’t wait. I’m going to be taking that adorable child on many a “candy break.” My Grandpa used to take me and my siblings to the candy store when we were kids, give us a small brown bag, and say to us, “Fill ‘em up.”

OH YEA!!!!! THIS Grandma believes in spoiled grandchildren. Woo Hoo.

Flourish Living is a new Christian women’s magazine where Dineen and I are regular contributors. This magazine is fantastic. In fact, this month’s article written by Dineen is titled, Great … and no so great…. Expectations. It’s outstanding and my article in the new year is titled: Sexless Marriage. My friends, join in this adventure with us. A perfect Christmas gift for your friends, a gift subscription is only $19.95. And if you subscribe you receive two magazines. One for you and one to give away. The magazine is also in its year-end financial campaign. They give away a ton of their magazines and so support is a large part of their budget. Take a listen to Myra Houser the Editor.

Okay, onward.

FltWhich brings me to FamilyLife Today. I actually was able to have a sneak peak (or sneak listen) to the broadcasts today and my friends, Jesus is honored. The boradcast is spread over three days, beginning next Monday, December 5th.

Dineen and I are hopeful that you would rally behind the women and men who arrive at our site next week. They need to be loved on, just like you were loved on when you arrived at SUM. I think THE most impactful greeting a woman can receive is a word or a prayer from someone else in our community.

I will share with you more tomorrow.

And let’s see. Oh ya, in December Dineen and I are feeling the Holy Spirit moving us to write about love. Now this tiny word is so overused but we are going to be talking about the power of love and every component of God’s love, beginning with self-love. I can’t wait.

Then in January after our community fast, we are jumping right into the “get real” stuff. Spiritual warfare. We will explain it, instruct it and launch you into it with power and purpose like never before. So hang on to your hats. The wind of the Holy Spirit is blowing. Our community is marching. We are loving. We are walking in victory after victory.

There are marriages to revive. There are relationships that God intends to make thrive. There are children who are to be trained to impact the world. There are eternities at stake. AND there is a God who loves us every day and longs for us to recognize His presence.

It’s going to be a blast. My friends, choose love. It wins every time. I love you. Lynn

1 John 4:18a There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear.

When Love Abounds: Four Choices to an Intentional Christmas

IMG_1874We’d said farewell to precious friends and the turkey and fixings now resided in our fridge, along with the deserts, thank goodness! Our Thanksgiving Day drew to a close with a sweet contentment that warmed our hearts. My husband even commented that he thought it was his favorite Thanksgiving so far.

He and I worked to clean up the rest of the pots and pans, unaware that our two daughters and their sweeties sat at the dining room table, hooked into an action packed game of Catch Phrase.

Only when we’d finished our clean-up did we become fully aware of the momentous scene playing out.

How many years had I prayed and dreamed of such a day? For my two daughters to not just get along (with four years between them they often struggled to connect) but hang out and enjoy each other’s company? To one day see them with them as adults moving into their lives and witness the fruit of so many prayers?

I’m so glad I didn’t miss this moment, my friends, because even as I sat there, I knew this was a gift. A moment to ponder and hold in my heart, much like Mary did as she heard the shepherds and wise men sing the praises of the tiny babe she held close.

My husband and I whipped out our phones and snapped some shots to capture this moment because even he knew this time was special. To my chagrin, he even took a few pictures of me because “I looked so beautiful.”

I know without a doubt what he saw was my joy in the Lord for this time, for this rich blessing, for this sweet “kiss” from God telling me He’d heard every prayer and what I now saw was the promise of what was to come.

Love abounded. Great love. Great joy. A Great God.

Part of walking in God’s presence is staying aware of moments like these and staying in them. Right there, right in the moment. I could only sit on our couch and watch, soaking in every bit of it.

10563775_mAs we enter this Christmas season already full of events and family visits, it’s easy to miss special moments in the chaos so prevalent this time of year but therein may lay some of our greatest gifts of the season! Here’s what I learned last year in my determination to have an “Intentional Christmas:”

Intentional Choice #1: Reject the chaos. Decide how many “things” you and your family realistically have time for, pick a number and stick with it. Let your yes be yes and your no be no. Sometimes last minute “things” come up so do be flexible but factor in margins to accommodate those sudden events so that your plans aren’t totally thrown off. Spontaneity can visit but don’t let her roost.

Intentional Choice #2: Choose specifically. Which events and activities do you and your family want to partake in? Which relationships do you feel the need to invest more time in this year? Even make time for rest in your schedule. Have a super busy day planned? Make the next day one of rest and relaxation. Make it a Christmas movie day, a time to read stories and just enjoy each other.

Intentional Choice #3: Release expectations. We often walk into the holidays with unrealistic expectations. We can’t control everything. Let go of unrealistic expectations of yourself, your husband, your immediate family, your extended family, of others and even of situations that serve only to create conflict and resentment. Let’s face the reality that the Christmas season can bring the best and worst out of us. Extend lots of grace and enjoy those moments when things just seem to fall into place and go smoothly. Be Mary and give Martha the season off. Moments with loved ones are way more important than making sure all your dishes match. Take this from someone who knows (wink).

Intentional Choice #4: Accept whatever comes. Not as a passive gesture but as a willingness to let God surprise you. This is where not just the good stuff happens but the great stuff. Don’t miss a moment of it. Cover yourself and your family in prayer for God’s love to abound and bring His blessings in the most unexpected places. Look for opportunities to bless your family, your friends and even a stranger here and there. This is where we find true joy and share it with the world!

I’ll end here with a wonderful moment right from the Bible:

So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. — Luke 2:16-19

Let’s ponder those moments of the heart together!

There ARE Victories in our Community, Listen In

Hello Dineen & Lynn!

Wordle: Victory

I don't know if you remember me writing you asking for prayer regarding my marriage, it's been few months. I just wanted to say I am so thankful for all your prayers and support and blogs of encouragement and direction that helped me so much during my time of need.

I have fought for my marriage through prayer and God's word. I am just amazed at all that I went through and was able to come this far through the grace of Jesus and support from everyone like you. In July my husband was saying he was still leaving me for another woman and that he COULDN'T love me anymore. I pressed on in God's word.

During this time I became more aware of the demonic presence that was acting through my husband to destroy our marriage. I became bolder. One night coming home from my prayer meeting, as my husband came to bed, I could feel the thing creep into our room, I started to feel fear and anxiety and the pure evil move over my husband and try to creep over to me. I shouted out Stop! LEAVE ME ALONE IN THE NAME OF JESUS! I literally felt it creep back through my husband and start to leave. At that point I felt as though angels entered my room and removed it. I have not had an ordeal since then. My daughter previously had started having dreams of an evil presence to this also, which is why I became angry and bold. At the beginning of August. I was praising God for being God and doing all that He said He would do. I began to see an image I could not dismiss.  It was an image of a very angry and disgruntled demon being removed by four angels. I believed at that point I was experiencing the deliverance of my marriage.

A week later my husband said he was not leaving.

The Lord had told me that 17 would represent my victory. Our 17th anniversary was Sept 24th. My husband did not acknowledge our anniversary but I kept going in prayer. A week later he told me he was no longer talking to the other woman. It has still been a step by step process, as God has continued the healing and deliverance process not only for my marriage but for us as individuals. He gave me a verse a few weeks ago that said He was going to remove the oppression and the aggressor would be no more in my land. It has been awesome as He has begun removing all strongholds of the past and restoring all areas of my life and family (including mother, brothers, and sister).

I have such a huge testimony and so much new knowledge!  You wrote once that one problem is many people don't want to fight for their marriage. I am so glad I withstood the horrible things that my husband did and said. God's glory has shone through all the circumstances.

God said He was faithful.  He was. He said He was going to give me new life, new joy, and new memories. He is! He is totally working a new foundation for me and my family. I am so thankful, and so grateful!

It also took learning to walk in unconditional love. The love of God really does conquer all. I really am standing in awe. Thank you for writing your book and sharing your wisdom and experiences. Thank you for your blogs. Thank you for all our prayer support! I pray for continued blessings and protection over you and your family!

Happy Thanksgiving with lots of love!!!

So today on this day marked specifically in the US to give thanks, we are sooooo thankful.

And to Jennifer, Karen, Morag, Heather, Laura, Kathy, Dragan, Janet, Sherry, and Danielle, I have prayed this prayer over you. I BELIEVE it for you. I ask you to watch now what God will do in you: Pray along with me.

Thank you Father for meeting all of my financial needs that I may have more than enough to give into the Kingdom of God and promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Hallelujah! *

Now I want to leave you with a message from Lisa who started our miracle mission.

Here's a thank you for your "bless my socks off" community.   Oh my goodness, if they only knew how often I think of them and pray for them! Thank you, Lynn, for bringing this family of believers into my life. I have been sooo blessed by you and by them!!   ~Lisa

For those of you who have cheerfully contributed toward the purchase of the mosquito nets, a mere "thank you" falls so far short of what's really in my heart! You have never seen the faces of those who will receive your gift of love. You haven't walked their village paths or stepped into the doorway of their mud homes. You've not drank from their tea cups or eaten from their rice bowls. You've not held their callused hands or listened to their life's story. You don't know these people and they don't know you. And yet, because you know that Jesus loves them, you have loved them also. THAT is true Christianity! My "thank you" is immeasurably less than our Lord will give, but please accept my sincere "thank you, thank you, thank you!" and know that I am deeply moved by your great love and generosity. As Christmas draws closer, I'm continually imagining how AWESOME it's going to be for each family to receive their very first Christmas more "kiss" from the Lord, whose eyes are always on them and knows their every need.

Oh Father, Giver of all good things...Abraham could no more count the stars in the sky than we can count the blessings that you have poured out onto us. And now Lord, you have brought to our attention a beautiful way in which to bless others. Thank you for entrusting us with this plan of yours and for imparting such joy into our hearts as we have given! Truly, it is more blessed to give than to receive. May your love be entwined in each net, bringing help and hope to each family who receives one. And may your hand of favor rest on each of us and each of them as we anxiously await the time when we will encircle your throne and worship you together with united heart and voice!!

Happy Thanksgiving

God’s Unexpected Healing, Part 3

Read part 1 here.
Read part 2 here.

HeartinCloudsLast week, I ended with a promise to tell you what fear and love have in common. I left that post convinced the answer was “nothing.” But I figured I better ask God, just to be sure. After all, the Bible tells us to fear God.

So, I went for a walk and asked God about it. This is what He told me:

“Fear and love have Me in common. I am love and I created fear to be a reaction to a perceived threat in order to seek safety and protection. The enemy has taken what I intended for your good and used it against you.”

Whoa! Hadn’t thought of it that way and I’m not sure I would have without the help of the Holy Spirit. Now the rest of my healing story and how this is pertinent to the journey from fear to love.

I left Bethel the next day, still carrying the physical illness I’d hoped to be healed of, but knowing I’d been given an even greater gift of healing than I had ever expected. Or dared hope for. The results of this manifest almost everyday in the places I go and the things I do, and most dramatically with the people, those I know and love and even strangers.

Now that my fear is gone I am able to walk in God’s presence like never before. Fear and His love cannot walk together and this truth has never been more real to me. When we live and operate in a place of fear, we are not embracing the full authority and power that Jesus died to give us! Let that sink in, pray about it long and hard, and ask God to show you what to do next, my precious friends, my sisters and brothers in Jesus, because more than anything I want YOU TO WALK IN THIS TRUTH TOO!

I want you to prayerfully and carefully read 1 John 4:7-21. Twice John says that God IS LOVE. Now look at 1 John 4:18:

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Now read it again in light of the truth that GOD IS LOVE.

When we live in fear, God cannot perfect His love in us. He. Can’t. Perfect. Us. My friends, don’t give the enemy ground in your life through fear any longer. Go before God, pray, fast, do whatever it takes for Him to deliver you from whatever fear you sense keeping you from walking in victory. Name it out loud in the power and authority you have in Jesus (Luke 9:1) and tell it to return to the pit of hell and rot there!

God wants to free you, my friends. Remember, it is for freedom that Christ set us free (Gal 5:1). Claim that truth and walk in it! Your greatest faith adventure is about to begin because this is the kind of faith that shines so brightly that people will take notice. Your spouse will notice! And you will be amazed at the breakthroughs you begin to see in your life.

Flowers.003So that’s my story, dear friends. I pray the freedom Jesus came to give us blooms in your life like a bold sunflower, tall and strong with plenty of faith seeds to plant around you and in the generations to come. Our destiny in Jesus is to walk in freedom so let’s do so and help those who come up behind us to do the same.

Walking in freedom with you!

A Miracle ~ One Person At A Time

Nepali childrenMy friends......

Over $800 so fare for our miracle Christmas present to the Nepali Villagers. And think about it. The most anyone could give was $15. I just want to cry. Please know that I have taken you with me to the throne of grace asking for your blessing and breakthrough and increase.

Today I want to share with you a video of Lisa and one of her close friends, she calls her Neapli brother, Rubin. Rubin serves the new Christian church in these villages.

I pray you are delighted. Here are the words.

Chaina Chaina Chaina kehi chaina (nothing nothing nothing...there is nothing)
Mero munma kehi chaina (there is nothing in my heart...) 2x
Yeshu bahaek mero munma (...nothing but Jesus in my heart...)
Aru kehi chaina (there is nothing else)
Aru kehi chaina (nothing else)

The bridge is different every time. Ruben would sing about other things in a person's life, and I would respond by saying, "Chaina"...meaning "no" each time. The song goes on like this for a few things (basically saying "no" to all things except living for the Lord) and then it goes back to the chorus.

It's a fun song to sing and an easy one to learn!

And to Audrey, Courtney, Heather, Judy, Christy, Kathy, Julie, Morgan, Michelle, Susanne, Corinne, Carol, Janell, Rosemarie, Kindra, Tisha, Kimberly and Briana,

I have prayed this prayer over you. I BELIEVE it for you. I ask you to watch now what God will do in you: Pray along with me.

As we received these offerings we are believing our Father for:

Jobs and Better jobs
Benefits sales and commissions
Estates and inheritances
Gifts and surprises
Debts paid off
Blessings and increase

Favorable settlements
Interest and income
Checks in the mail
Finding money
Expenses decrease

Thank you Father for meeting all of my financial needs that I may have more than enough to give into the Kingdom of God and promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Hallelujah! *

Thanksgiving Day we will shut down the donate buttons for this miracle. And stop back in on that day as Lisa has a special note just for you. Hugs, Lynn

Ask God about this. Ask Him if you are to be part of this love offering. You can give $5, or $10 or $15. But no more than $15. All of us must be part of this love in motion. And if you can’t give, it is absolutely OKAY… Really, really okay. But, if God moved your heart, then get your card out and click over to our Paypall account.

This is the $5

This is the $10.

This is the $15.

Weekend Worship — Out They Go!

My friends, our wristbands just arrived at my door Friday afternoon and with the help of my daughter and her boyfriend, they are packed and read to go! We wound up with almost 100 addresses—the latest country added was India! That makes 9 different countries now. Wow!

IMG_1869So, be on the look out for your envelope to arrive. I apologize for having to tape the bands to the back of the certificates, but that was the only way to keep from paying a package rate for each one. The difference would have been over a dollar and for almost 100—a bit costly indeed.

I'm so excited to get these out to you! Let me know when you get them. And how cool would it be to see a "stranger" wearing one of these and finding out you are sisters in Christ?! That's a story I'd love to hear.

I am so blessed to share and walk this journey with you, my friends. I love and treasure each and every one of you!

And now our worship song for the weekend:

He Breathed On Me, Part III

Part I

Part II

There’s a shift in the atmosphere.

I can’t explain it. Well perhaps I can. Since returning home after my re-sign, the new gifts I received have been developing. It’s been a rocky and rough development. I’m tripped up with road blocks from the enemy and from my own doubts and unbelief. I’m stopped in my tracks through some of my old habits of sin. Yet, I manage through God’s unfathomable love and encouragement to get back up, brush myself off. I run to the wilderness and pray and I find myself able to walk further in The Presence.

So if you are on a rocky road, welcome to the party!

Dove-on-fence-2But, with all the uncertainty of the new gifts and struggling at times to keep my dove on my shoulder, I’m in a place of utter fascination. I’m noticing how I’m becoming more aware of the environments around me. The people, the situations. And how I perceive them with a new eye.

What I’m learning is when you are hosting the Presence of the Living God you are affecting your environment. I almost feel like when I walk into a room, a store, church, my home, I’m walking with a power of righteousness. And this power of righteousness is so effective that when I enter a room, it’s impacted for the Kingdom.

If you remember in my last post I shared when Jesus came, He forever changed how we see the contamination of sin. And further He became the one who brought cleansing and healing instead of contamination. It was a paradigm shift. And this shift is for all of us, His disciples. WE are to affect our environments through our touch, our hosting of God’s presence so that we bring cleansing, healing, truth and the power of God.

This is where living in the Presence through the Holy Spirit becomes so powerful for those of us who are living with unbelievers. Now listen and receive this.

This righteousness, the living presence of God is so powerful in the New Testament that Paul tells us that if there is a believing spouse in the household, she/he will sanctify every other member in the household. Righteousness, the living presence of God, is so contagious, so powerful that it creates an umbrella of safety around anyone that comes into that environment.

My friends, we have been positioned to release the Presence into the atmosphere so that God might find places to rest. People upon whom to rest.

I’m living proof of this. I’ve watched how my surrender has brought me into a profound love relationship with the Father, through Jesus and living in the Holy Spirit Presence. It’s through this relationship that I’ve battled evil and cast it out of my house. It’s through this power that I’ve become, not perfect by any means, but interesting, fascinating and impactful. Okay, well it’s not really me. It’s that people, even my spouse, kids, friends, strangers catch a glimpse of God in my eyes.

It’s contagious. Why? Because it’s God’s love - come to earth. His Kingdom on earth. His power. His purposes. It’s Him. People are utterly attracted to our Lord. They are utterly changed. WE are utterly changed by His love.

Now read this passage with me:

1 Corinthians 7: 12-14 To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her. And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him. For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.

Why is it that we don’t believe this?

Well I’m taking my unbelief to the woodshed and there it shall ever stay. I’m living proof that when you Host the Presence of the Most High God. The God who holds the universe in His hand, You will be so contagious that when you walk into a room, you can feel a shift.

The enemy flees. Hearts become open. Lives are transformed. God’s Kingdom comes to earth.

This is my story and so now I can hear some of you saying, “Well Lynn, that’s all well and good for you but I’m not there and I’m not seeing a shift. I’m not seeing anything and my husband certainly isn’t changed. So I don’t believe you.”

I get it. And in my next post I want to talk about this as well. So, join me next time and let’s talk about the realities of Hosting the Presence and how you get from your place to the road of the Kingdom Come to Earth.

But before I leave. I wonder what does 1 Corinthians 7:12-14 mean to you. Have you read these verses in the Message translation? Share with me your thoughts. Is this passage for every one of just some? Thoughts? Choose love my friends. Choose love. Hugs, Lynn

Can someone post the Message Translation in the comments?

God's Unexpected Healing, Part 2

WorshipMy friends, last week I shared the first part of my unexpected healing at Bethel Church and God’s gift of truth from a dear woman named Helen. Now for the rest of the story. Or rather, the results of this dramatic healing in my life that keeps playing out on a daily basis. Wow!

I really didn’t understand everything at the time that it happened. The full reality didn’t unfold immediately. With this kind of internal healing, it’s like a walk of discovery. Only as you move forward do you see the changes.

I remember when I worked as a youth minister, I loved the verse Galatians 5:1, “It is for freedom that Christ set us free.” I craved that verse, wanted it to be true in my life more than anything but after a while I doubted it was possible. Seemed like my faith walk and life was an emotional roller coaster ride most of the time.

But over the years, as I submitted more and more of my heart to God, He has entered and healed as much as I allowed Him. Go back and read that sentence and see if that’s true for you. Do you limit what God has access to in your heart? Why? Keep reading and see if your answer is the same as mine was.

The conference at Bethel was the near completion (I say near because I believe we are constantly being perfected in our faith, and I in no way want to assume God is done in this area of my life) of a process that started in 2002 to free me of a past full of hurts and rejections that I’d allowed the enemy to use to hold me in bondage.

As I submitted more and asked for more freedom in my life, God was and is faithful. The process is ongoing! I am so radically changed! Sometimes we think we’ve completely submitted to God but He shows us more that He wants access to in order to show us who He created us to be through Jesus Christ, who we always were, are and are meant to be in our identity in Jesus. And very often to restore what the enemy has taken away.

My immediate proof was in the security and peace I felt. Then I noticed that I could look people straight in the eye. I didn’t dart my glance away out of shyness. I WANTED to look at them and I didn’t fear them looking back at me.

Then came our evening worship. I stood, anxious to worship God. My heart was so full of gratitude for what He’d done in me, even though I didn’t fully understand it yet, I knew He’d freed me. The music started and I can only describe it as if my spirit were dancing inside of me. I literally wanted to twirl like a little girl! Where I once used to hesitate out of fear of what others might think, I had not a care of what I looked like. It didn’t matter to me anymore.

At one point I shed the thin black jacket that I wore. Lynn was standing in the aisle a couple rows behind and says it was like witnessing my freedom come to life as I shed a mantle of darkness for God’s freedom. (I’ll let her tell that story if God leads her to.) I only know that I felt like I was dancing before God. I even remember the way I felt as a girl taking ballet lessons and losing myself in the joy of the movement. And now it was again like that elegant dance but this time, all to worship God. More proof of God’s unexpected healing.

And more kept coming. When I returned home and back to my office, all those things I’d been striving for didn’t matter anymore. And I don’t mean that they weren’t important—they are and they have their place in what God is calling me to do. They just didn’t define me anymore. My work for God no longer defined me. My relationship with Him and who He says I am now does. The rest is extra for Him and I to share together and my chance to give to others what He has so generously given me.

My entire world has changed. I used to structure my day by first starting with God, my quiet time of course, and then the rest of my day was about my work. My agenda. Now God is my agenda. I can’t figure out a better way to say it. All the work stuff—what matters gets done. But whatever God has planned for the day comes first.

I used to dread interruptions because they took me away from what I needed to get done. My agenda was priority. I truly wanted to be available to God but didn’t want it to be inconvenient. Now, as I walk through my days, I look for those interruptions! They are sweet times to see God at work in OUR lives (Not just mine. Yours too!) in a very real and tangible way and to be a part of that. To co-labor (love that word!) with God to reach the broken hearts He sets in our path at the most unexpected times.

And I will share one other place in my life that is radically changed. My fear is gone! Yes, that is the most radical area of my healing. Was your answer the same? Does your fear of what God might do or ask you to do limit Him? I know mine did.

My prayer life is very different now as well. I didn’t realize how big of a hold fear had in my life. The enemy had worked layer upon layer of fear in my life since I was a child. And that fear is what kept me from praying boldly and from understanding my authority in Jesus Christ.

Now I am learning to pray boldly in the Holy Spirit and I am seeing breakthroughs and answers to prayers. Areas of conflict in my life in which I normally would avoid rather than face, I now confront confidently and insist it be dealt with. This is an HUGE area for me!

My friends, let me emphasize that I did NONE of this! This is all God. He did this and is doing all this in me. I didn’t work at it, make a plan of action, set up a prayer regiment, or anything like that. I had been praying for God to make me bolder, like Paul. I wanted to be confident in Him and not afraid to step forward or to take a risk. I told God I was tired of being insecure and lacking confidence. What I didn’t realize is that was also part of God’s process in exposing what He wanted to heal in my life.

Please understand, this is about complete submission. My biggest prayer had been for more of God. I wanted more of Him in my life. I wanted Him to BE my life. The amazing thing is, God WANTS to do this in us and give Himself to us.

So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! — Luke 11:7

The emphasis in this verse is mine because this truth just stood out to me this week. We miss this last line thinking we get what Jesus is saying, that we are to ask God for what we need. But hear me right how, Jesus is saying the Father wants to give us something better.

God wants to give us HIS HOLY SPIRIT. Not just to indwell us as part of our salvation, Christ living in us. But his very presence!

Because He is all we truly need. The rest will come, just trust Him for it. And I promise you, that may seem like an impossible thing to do, but when we want God’s presence more than anything in our lives—I mean truly crave it—the rest just isn’t as important anymore or you are confident in God’s provision and care.

Let that truth sink in deep, my precious friends. I will have to finish this blog post next week as it seems God had so much more for me to share than I realized. And I dare say next week will have more revelations—one in particular, the mystery of God’s love.

Join me next week and I will tell you what fear and love have in common. The answer just might surprise you. I know it did me.

Know that I love you with the heart of Jesus!

Miracles and a Powerful Financial Prayer for You

As I was reading the Word this morning, I read this passage below. And in that instant God said to me, “Lynn, this is for all of you who I have laid upon your heart my people in the Nepali villages. Share this will them and give them hope and tell them how much their gifts have brought joy to my heart and a smile to my face.”

Here is the passage:

Hebrews 10:23-24 NLT

Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.

My friends, the greatest gift we have received is hope. Our hope that God CAN be TRUSTED to keep his Promises. And out of our great hope follows our joy which becomes ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.

Listen to me now.

This passage has come to life in this community over the past week. Dineen and I had no idea how this miracle would go or what would happen. We have never taken a love offering. You again have showing your hearts and we have prayed for each of you.

image from www.spirituallyunequalmarriage.comSo far we have raised enough for 50 nets. That’s 50 villagers’ homes that will be safe at night from the Malaria carrying mosquitos.

My friends, for those who still want to be part of this very first Christmas present, it’s not too late. Here is the Miracle Article. Hop over there and read about it. And if you can’t give, absolutely no guilt. This is a joyous sheer gift out of the Holy Spirit motivation and not from guilt.

Here are the buttons. And on Monday, November 19, we will be bringing honor to God for the gifts and I giant thank you to all who have made this miracle happen.

Now to Dineen, Briana, Jewel, Noreen, Dionce, Martha, Ginna, Elizabeth, Theresa, Naomi, Rosalina, Sabrina, Marlene, Bridget, Kelly, Dorothy, Cheryl, Bethany, Kimberly, Karen, Stacey, Jennifer, Alyson, Suzanne, Nancy, Laura, Jere, Ashley, Elissa, Teresa, Rachel, Eva, Nancy, Juliane, Marian, Courtney, Deborah, Gillian, Brenda, Megan, Staci, Kristin, Kathryn, Alice, Lorraine,

I have prayed this prayer over you. I BELIEVE it for you. I ask you to watch now what God will do in you: Pray along with me.

As we received these offerings we are believing our Father for:

Jobs and Better jobs
Benefits sales and commissions
Estates and inheritances
Gifts and surprises
Debts paid off
Blessings and increase
Raises and bonuses
Favorable settlements
Interest and income
Checks in the mail
Finding money
Expenses decrease

Thank you Father for meeting all of my financial needs that I may have more than enough to give into the Kingdom of God and promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Hallelujah! *

Now here is the end of the passage I read this morning. It is so fitting for our community:

Hebrews 10:25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Don’t stop meeting here in this online community because miracle-upon-miracle awaits and God is so anxious to show them all to us.

Let God’s Kingdom reign on earth, in our homes, in the Nepali Villages, as it is in heaven. LOVE YOU, Lynn

Weekend Worship — Keep Going!

IMG_1854A few weeks ago as I was out walking and praying, AND having one of those days that I was truly struggling with some decisions and issues in my life, I came across this garbage can on the side of the path. I read the message (which wasn't there a couple days earlier when I walked last) and smiled.

I'd just been praying about something that I wasn't sure how to move forward on and then I read this wonderful hand painted message in gold.

"Keep going."

I have no doubts that God put it upon this person's heart to write this message and I'm one of those it was intended for.

Sometimes that's what God asks us to do when we're walking through the more difficult challenges of life. And we can trust His message to keep going because even though we don't know how it's all going to work out or what we'll face on the other side, He does. And He's always working for our good. Always.

Forgive me for sounding like a broken record, but that's our promise in Romans 8:28. It's a truth that will change your entire life and outlook if you let it permeate your mind and heart and everything you think you know about God.

I love you, my friends, and I pray God's goodness is extremely real and present for you this weekend. Here's another song for you!

Worshiping with you!

He Breathed On Me

Okay, I left you last week with this astonishing story of a girl who was ordered by the God of the Universe to free my husband from the prison cell where “I” had placed him.

Can I just say: OUCH!

Well what I have to share today is not only my husband’s freedom but mine as well. And mostly my friends, YOUR FREEDOM IS AT HAND.

He Breathed On Me, Part Deux

Many profound things happened to the three of us in the span of three days. And today, I’m of the humble place to share with you the most important thing that happened.

We stood in the very real and tangible presence of our Holy God. At one point during the third day I was so overcome by His presence that I was absolutely paralyzed and sorta like electrocuted (in a good way). I will explain in a future post.

But out of this experience we took home with us a new reality of God’s personal presence in our life. It is the revealed purpose of the Holy Spirit.

Now I’ve walked with God and Jesus and within the Holy Spirit for a long time. However, I was clueless about the Holy Spirit and His intricate leadership of the believer’s life. And it was at the conference God said in some fashion, “You are going to be indwelled, empowered and live in the anointing of my Holy Presence.”

Can I just say: Whoa!

And can I just say, “I’m not worthy but God loves me that much.” And He loves you that much. He wants all of us to live in The Presence. It’s in The Presence that lives are transformed. You begin to see everything and everyone differently. You discover things that were once enormously important, like writing a book or even your husband’s immediate salvation are insignificant and irrelevant. What matters is living sensitive to the flame of the dove that rests upon your shoulder.

I recall being on the phone with Dineen a few days after we arrived home from our trip. At one point we said the same thing at the same time, “It just doesn’t matter anymore.” And what we mean by this is that living in the Presence is complete surrender. Complete belief and complete trust.

  • Thus, if we are to write another book, God will bring it to pass. If we don’t, it just doesn’t matter.
  • Our spouse’s salvation. It’s a forgone conclusion and God will bring it about when He is ready.
  • Funding for our daughter’s college. God has this covered. And not only covered. He has selected the school for my daughter, the man she will marry and even the financial blessing to pay for the wedding. Wow!

And what if none of this happens? It just doesn’t matter because we live in a place with a God that loves us so much that He will take care of us. Now perhaps this sounds shallow or hallow. And what if God takes care of us and moves us to a shack in Nairobi. It is possible. God rarely does what we expect and often calls us to participate in the unexpected. But living in the thriving Presence makes ALL THINGS POSSIBLE (Matthew 19:26). Makes all things joyful and all things are unto His glory, purpose and for His worship.

Okay, sorry, bunny trail. I just get so excited.

Let me share this scripture. I pray with everything in me that you read this and receive it as yours, personally from Jesus. John 20:21-22(NIV)

Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit changes things, changes people.

I heard Bill Johnson explain it this way. In the Old Testament God’s people were commanded to stay far away from sin. Why? Because sin contaminates, damages, and separates us from God. For example if you were to touch a Leper, you became unclean.

Are you with me? Now really listen closely.

Jesus came (N.T.), the human example of how to Host the Presence of God and to bring His Kingdom to earth. Now get this. When Jesus came He not only touched but he brought healing. The Leper becomes clean. The New Testament purpose is for us modern day believers is to touch others and bring healing and wholeness.

What a paradigm shift.

Everything Jesus did for three years was a model for human kind how to Host God’s Presence and to bring His Kingdom to earth. Jesus prayed, Your Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. This prayer was not for a Kingdom in the future. IT IS FOR RIGHT NOW. His Kingdom is now. On earth! And we, His people are the chosen ones to bring it to the nations.

How? By hosting His Presence through the Holy Spirit.

So what happens to us when we become living hosts of the Holy Spirit? Ahhhhh, now we are getting somewhere. We will have to tackle that question in my next post. For today, I want you to really wrangle with what I’ve shared. I want you to beg, on your face, if necessary that Jesus would breathe a fresh Holy Spirit anointing upon you. Share with me your thoughts. Where you are in this life-long journey. What questions stir in your soul?

I will see you again next post when I share the most profound point to all of us who are married to unbelievers.

I love you my friends. I really love you! Living in His Presence, Lynn

Tablecloth of Thanks

It’s never too late to start a new tradition in your home, especially one which brings honor to the Lord. I have a story to share and a photo. I also want to give you a chance to share some of your holiday traditions or giggles.

Join in today and share a Thanksgiving holiday tradition from your home or share a funny holiday hiccup.

I will share with you that like many newly married young women, I didn’t realize the turkey was stuffed with bagged giblets. Yep, I cook the turkey with the plastic bag and the giblets still inside. We ate it anyway.

Also, three years ago, I set the oven on fire when I moved the giant bird around. I freaked out. My husband came running. The house was crazy, people were yelling, crying and freaking… Perhaps it was only me doing the yelling, crying and freaking. My calm man put the flames out and to this day, I don’t know how he did it because we didn’t own a fire extinguisher.

The next morning I rose before dawn and went shopping at The Home Depot. NO NOT FOR CHRISTMAS… For a fire extinguisher. And now, every year BEFORE I bake the turkey, I check to make sure the extinguisher is charged and ready.

Today, I'm sharing one of my most favorite family traditions. Here is a post I wrote five years ago for the Internet Cafe. Hope you start a family tradition this year. It's NEVER too late to have a Tablecloth of Thanks.

Tablecloth of Thanks

Many of you know that I am married to an unbeliever. This past May we celebrated 15 years of marriage. Our unequally yoked marriage has had its challenges to say the least. Over the years, however, our ingenious God has maneuvered us through many touchy issues.

Our disparity becomes more apparent during the holidays. Giving thanks to our Lord in November is a treasured time for me. I name my blessings one-by-one in prayer, thanking God for His lavish abundance poured into our lives.

Like most wives living in an unequally yoked marriage, I long for my spouse to understand there is a God. To know He is intricately involved in our lives and everything we have is provision of our creator. I have also learned that forcing God upon my husband is a surefire way to push him away. I am careful to respect my husband and simply trust Jesus to reach him in his perfect timing.

In spite of my husband’s unbelief, I discovered a unique way to draw him into the celebration of thanks, besides through his stomach. He loves turkey.

Four years ago, I threw a new, pristine-white tablecloth across our dinning room table two weeks prior to Thanksgiving. I purchased several colored pens and placed them on top. A new tradition was born, a Tablecloth of Thanks. It began with my daughter. I told her, “I WANT you to write on this tablecloth.” She looked at me with skepticism in her eyes, wondering if her mother had lost her mind.

“Really,” my smiled reassured. “Write down what you are most thankful for this year. Then write the year, 2004, near your name.”

She grinned and began to write using several different colors. I joined in and wrote my thanks directly on the beautiful tablecloth.

Later that evening my husband noticed the scribbles on the tablecloth. I watched as he walked over to read our words. I walked to his side and took his hand. I subtly asked him if he would also write down his thanks. He smiled and said maybe later.

Finally on the evening of Thanksgiving Day, my husband picked up a pen and wrote; I am thankful for my wonderful family, great friends, and a very happy life.

Wow! Was he giving thanks to our Lord? I am not sure. However, every year since he has continued to write a thankful list. Last year’s entry reads; I am thankful for all of my blessings…family, friends, and the dogs.

Imported Photos 00001What? Did he use the word blessings? Small steps such as these lead to the Savior. I can’t wait to read his thankful list this year.

The Thankful Tablecloth is one of my most prized possessions. Everyone who visits our home during the Thanksgiving holiday contributes to this permanent memorial of thanks. It is a visible praise to the King displayed in our unequally yoked home each November.

One of my favorite thanks is this:

I am thankful
to be able to sit
on the couch and have
my people pet me.

Hmmmm, I wonder how the dog grew fingers and learned to write????

Psalm 69:30 (NIV)
I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.

Lord God, I will name my blessings one-by-one….. Jesus… eternal life…. clean water to drink…..capacity to love…..empowerment to forgive….. just for a start…..

It is never too late to start a new tradition. If you want to start your Tablecloth of Thanks, I have a few helpful hints.

  1. Place a sheet of butcher paper under your tablecloth. (I have a permanent smiley face on my dinning room table from the year 2005)
  2. Use colorfast fabric pens.
  3. Store your tablecloth in an airtight Ziploc bag.

Thank you my friends for sharing this Holiday treasure with me. I wish you were with me today and could share your thankful heart on the Tablecloth of Thanks.

God’s Unexpected Healing

6a00d83451ee9f69e2017ee4432250970d-320wiI stood among many who could tell you at least one thing they wanted to be healed of. For now, we’d stood as community worshipping God in the late morning at Bethel Church. I still hoped that before I left this amazing place that God would heal me of a physical condition that I had lived with for over 10 years.

The pastor (Bill Johnson) that morning began to speak and then seemed to change direction. I can’t tell you everything he said. I only remember him speaking about the lie of insignificance and that some of us in the audience were struggling with it.

The next thing I remember is breaking down into sobs. In my mind I remember asking why, why was I crying? Hadn’t God dealt with this area of my life in the past, the years of hurt from a childhood filled with rejection? Lord, didn’t we already deal with this?

But the tears kept coming and whatever Bill Johnson said next ripped the lies of insignificance, fear, inadequacy, lack of confidence, insecurity and whatever else had festered in this hole in my heart that I had strived so hard to fill with success as a graphic designer, a writer, a speaker, a marketing expert and so many other attempts to excel and shine in just one place so I could confidently say, I had succeeded in at least one place of my life. The problem was, I never seemed to reach that imagined goal because every comparison I made told me otherwise.

Are you surprised to hear this? I had thought God and I had dealt with this pretty well. I knew I still had more ground to cover to be more confident and secure in myself. Yet there I stood that Friday morning as God’s unexpected presence wrapped me in His healing.

But wait. He wasn’t done.

I left the sanctuary literally spent and drained. All that crud that God took out of me left me wondering what would take its place. What did it all mean? I knew I felt lighter, freer than I ever had. But something felt...unfinished.

Lynn, Heidi and I quickly grabbed our lunches and found a picnic table on a grassy area. We’d only started to eat and talk when an older woman moved from a table behind us and took the open seat at ours. We welcomed her and found out her name was Helen Williams.

IMG_1847Again, I can’t tell you how it played out or everything that was said. I only remember saying that I felt like I was still reeling from what I’d experienced. Next thing I knew, this dear woman place her hand on my wrist and stared me right in the eye and said things like:

“Everything you need, God has already placed in you.”

And this one, this truth I cling to:

“It doesn’t matter what others think of you. It doesn’t even matter what YOU think of you. The only thing that matters is what God thinks of you.”

If you are wondering if I broke down in tears again, I did. Because God ALWAYS finishes what He starts. I don’t know about you, but have you noticed how God likes to finish BIG?

I have no doubts that God told Helen to come sit at our table for a reason. He’d healed me of my addictions to the approval and praise of people, and then He put His truth in its place. And He used this precious woman to do it. I will always be grateful to Helen for the words of life and truth she spoke into me, and I will always think of her as my spiritual grandmother.

There is one more major area that God healed me of that day, but that I will save for next week as I finish my story of God’s unexpected healing. I promise it’s worth the wait!

Carrying you in my heart!

We Believe In Miracles

Do You Believe?

Matthew 10:8

"Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils; freely ye have received, freely give."

Today’s post is going to mess you up. It’s going to take you all over the place and it is going to bring you home. This post will give you a glimpse of a love that surpasses logic and understanding. And this post is so much about you. Please forgive me if I prayed for you before you read this and ask God to move you by this story. I prayed:

O Lord, rend our heart. Open it bleeding to feel what you feel. To love like you love. To be the chosen of the Chosen ONE to bring your purpose, your love and your Kingdom to this world today. In Jesus powerful name. Amen.

This community at SUM believes in miracles. And we were part of a miracle for Gina. You can read about that miracle, here and here

But today it’s time for another miracle.

This is Lisa Stewart.

Lisa is a 90-pound, spitfire who is so in love with Jesus that every time she starts to talk about Him, her voice quivers and tears spring to her eyes. I kid you not.. Every – single - time. It’s like this fascinating, kinda, funny fountain of love from the Holy Spirit that bubbles up. It’s one my favorite things to do to Lisa is to just ask her anything about how much God loves…. It’s like an automatic sprinkler system *grin*. And I poke a little humor her way but my friends, I LOVE THAT ABOUT LISA. I love her passion for Jesus, her belief in miracles her limitless compassion, love and purposeful serving for those who have less than nothing.

It’s time for all of us to share in a miracle. I KNOW without doubt that God has uniquely placed all of us together in this online family because we have a tender heart and truly know what suffering is about. We have been broken and bleeding and through that God has birthed in us a compassion and empathy for others who lie broken along the road like the man who was beat up and left on the road to Jericho. Do you remember the Good Samaritan story? Go read it again today and let God speak through those words. I just read it this morning and it nearly took me to the floor. (Luke 10:25)

Mercy. It’s about love and it’s about mercy.

God has been so merciful to me. And to you!

So, it’s time for another community miracle. And I promise you Dineen and I have been praying for months for God to show us our next miracle. And we waited and waited and waited. Finally, Lisa shows up to have lunch with me last week. With tears, with smiles with her love and that’s when I knew. Our next miracle is also part of Lisa’s.

You see Lisa is a missionary who serves a tiny population of villagers in a remote area of Nepal.

This is the story of these two villages and why they are so important to us. Lisa explained that through one man who came to study as a missionary here in America, the gospel of Jesus Christ returned home with him and a small Christian church was born within this heavily Hindu practicing area. Lisa linked elbows with Depak and has been traveling to this area for years now. She serves, she loves, she shares Jesus.

As Lisa was telling me about her most recent adventure, I was deeply touched. The villagers just received two new water wells. Prior to this there was not one single safe source of water. The water was contaminated and Lisa put it bluntly. The villagers ingest tiny worms through the contaminated water, parasites, that slowly eat away at their insides. Yep, sorry to be so graphic, but it is the brutal truth.

So just this summer two wells were installed.

One in each village where they serve.

So why the long story. Because this is the end of a long set up. It is a Jesus-set up that is so powerful it’s astonishing, beautiful and so filled of love that it makes me gush like Lisa.

Now read this and see if you see Jesus and how He worked among the needy while on earth. After the wells were installed earlier in the summer, Lisa traveled with a team of physicians to bring medical care to these Nepali people. They have never seen a doctor, ever.

Line for medical
Line for Medical Care

And here is the set up. First they provided clean water. Then they provided medical care, and then guess what? They were introduced to Jesus and they were prayed over.

Prayer for the people
Each Nepoli was prayed over

Do you know what happened? Over 400 Nepali villagers prayed to receive Jesus into their hearts.

My friends, why does this matter to us? Well, these are brand new Christians. Our brothers. Our sisters. And guess what?

This December is their first Christmas. And with our help we are going to give them their first Christmas present.

MosquitoLet me explain. It’s about Malaria (read the description of this ugliness here). Lisa contracted Malaria while in Nepal. She described to me such horrible sickness that it’s too graphic to share right now. Her sickness led her to pray and God said, “The Nepali people often suffer with this sickness. Help them.” You see what happens is the bad water and the parasites weaken a body to such a point that when a child, the elderly or weak are bitten by a mosquito carrying the Malaria, it can kill them.

Now here is where I’m going to mess you up. This woman was waiting in line to see the doctor. And what this photo doesn’t show is that when this child was examined by the doctor, he looked over at Lisa and shook his head. The terrible indication obvious, this child would not survive.

Mother and child
Sorry to pull at your heart strings but I did so on purpose.

I think Lisa cried a fresh telling me this story. I know I did.

But,…… and with God, there is always a “but” to the story and Jesus died so there would always be hope.

A simple solution for this tragedy is twofold, one the water source. It has been provided. Two, malaria nets.

Insecticide treated Malaria nets

That’s where we come in. An entire family can sleep under a net at night and that will protect them from the mosquitos that only come out after dusk. One net is $5.

It is our privilege to be part of these villages very first Christmas and to present each family with one mosquito net.

Let’s storm the gates of heaven and allow God to love on these people and allow ourselves to be part of it. I’m praying now for 500 nets. NO. Let’s pray bigger, 1,000 nets. That will be enough for two villages.

My friends, this may seem like a small thing but …. But with God, these people will KNOW that God’s people love and love with a mighty power. The darkness of Hinduism is about to feel a quaking in Nepal because God is on the move and He is using ordinary women, wives and moms and dads out there to change a people.

Thank you. I love you. Jesus loves you.

We will only have this miracle for three short weeks. The last time you can make a donation is November 25th.

And the great thing, Lisa will have photos for us when the nets are delivered for Christmas.

God is good. He has given us so much. Thank you for giving to others this season of miracles. Love and hugs, Lynn

God bring your miracles and let us bear witness to your signs and wonders. In Jesus name. Amen

My friends, if you are okay with it, would you please share this post with your friends, family and Facebook. Thank you.

Weekend Worship — Two Songs!

My precious friends, these two songs have spoken to my heart and spirit in sweet ways this week and I want to share them with you.

I pray as you listen that the Holy Spirit would settle upon you with sweet comfort, joy and encouragement. I pray the presence of God would be a sweet scent to fill your sense with the reassurance that He is with you always and desires to keep company with you! I pray that you would have an encounter with Jesus that would change your heart forever!

Wherever you are, our Lord longs to meet with you right there!

Love you all so much!

Taking Off The Badge

Sometimes are you overcome and overwhelmed with the sheer love and patience God bestows upon you?

Glad it’s not just me.

His relentless persistence to get through to my heart and more, my thick-head, is astounding. In the weeks since the conference, I feel like I’m reading scripture for the first time. I’m in love with the book of Luke right now and can’t get enough. I’m reading that book like it was personally written for me. Scripture verses have new meaning, depth and POWER in my life.

And my friends I want to share a scripture passage that I hope utterly brings you to the floor with worship and prayer and then raises you up to the purpose and the power it is intended. And it is a scripture written just for us, spouses who live with pre-believers, doubters and even those hostile to Christ.

So, get ready. I’m not sure how long this post will be but I’m writing until the entire story is out. Because it is HIS-story and all for His glory.

He Breathed On Me

I think I mentioned in the post about Maria that God was intentionally selective about the conferees that He placed around us during the three day event. Our God did not waste one minute of the conference. He sent Helen to us at lunch and Maria next to me in the audience and Laura prayed with us in the bathroom. That story still makes me chuckle (a tale for another day, I promise).

But God also used Heidi, Dineen and me as we spoke truth and love into each other’s lives. A bond of love formed between the three of us that is impenetrable, powerful, perfect and sealed in eternal love. I hope all of you experience this kind of Kingdom friendship and love.

Onward. It was the last day of the conference and all throughout the day, through people like Laura, Darlene, and Helen God was trying to talk to Dineen and I. He wanted to speak about something Dineen and I wear. You see we kinda promote this badge on our chest. I’m still struggling to figure out how it comes to rest on my chest and why. But the badge we wear says this:

I’m unequally yoked.

Truly we have move past wearing this badge as martyrs. It’s just easy to say, “I’m unequally yoked” because in Christian circles people always reply to our declaration with a serious nod of understanding accompanied by eyes full of concern or pity and they utter one word, “Oh.” As if to say, I see, I get it, poor you.

Sheesh, just writing that makes my stomach turn. Onward.

Well after three days of proudly wearing our invisible but very discernible badges around the place and after God sending people to us to speak gently about our malady of unequalness, God was sick of us. So He sent in Heidi.

We were walking along the road to a nearby restaurant for dinner. Now I don’t recall the conversation specifics at the moment. I think we were talking about Laura and the words she prayed over us in the women’s restroom. And Heidi with trepidation in her voice says, “Did you hear what she was saying to you?”

“Ya, I thought I did.”

Heidi looked at me and Dineen with uncertainty in her eyes and then she ventured, “I really don’t know how to say this and I’m not saying this to be hurtful or anything but I don’t think you are hearing what God is saying to you.”

I froze in my tracks on the side of the road with cars passing by. I stared at Heidi and Dineen was standing right there frozen as well. “I just hear God telling me to tell you this. ‘Your marriages are not mismatched or unequally yoked. Your marriages are mine. Your husbands are mine.’”

Instantly I felt chastised by our most loving and Holy God.

Heidi rushed on, “Please don’t be mad but I hear God telling me to say to you, ‘They are mine.”

That instant my heart broke wide open. I felt ashamed that I had not believed God about this and even more shame that for so, so long I’ve worn this stupid “spiritually mismatched” badge about my person.

She said, “Your words have created a prison where you have held your husband in a cell.”

Pain. O, the pain.

However the pain and shame instantly left me as I said to Heidi, “Oh Heidi, you are right. God is so right.”

It was at the moment that I opened the doors of the prison. I tore off the badge and I surrendered it to God. I remember saying to Heidi and Dineen, “This changes everything. Even our ministry. Perhaps we are to even change our ministry name?” A million thoughts rushed into my head. And those thoughts Dineen and I are still wrangling with today.

Out of this entire exchange what has remained profound and clear to me are three words that the Father spoke to me and Dineen, “They are mine.”

My friends, deep calls to deep. Step into this deep with me and see if you can uncover the truth of those three words in your life. What are the implications? Why it is God would say this to Dineen and I, “They (our husbands) are mine.”

Now I have to also be clear in this. Heidi spoke these words as they were placed upon her through the Holy Spirit and they were intended for Dineen and I. However, I also believe they are intended for our community. But there is a progression or a spiritual shift that happens within us that allows God to speak these words to those of us who live with an unsaved spouse. And it’s this development, this shift that changes everything. And I’m desperate to share this with you so that you don’t have to be hit upside the head from a close friend on the side of the road.

But, this post is way too long for today. So join me on Friday as the BEST part of this story still awaits.

Oh on Monday, I have another astonishing story to share and you play a distinct part in the telling. I can’t wait to tell you the story and see how you take us to the ending.

I love you. I really love you… Choose love my friend. Living in the Presence, Lynn.
