The Full Armor of God: What is it? When should we wear it? Do we put it on? Is it clothing? Do I need to dress like a Roman? Why do I need to be concerned about some ancient armor the Romans wore?
Are we at war? What great questions you have asked. Okay, I guess I asked them. However, do we truly understand this passage of scripture? This passage is absolutely relevant to our lives today.
There is a struggle. There is a battle brewing. It is the most important and scariest drama you will ever learn about…… and IT IS REAL. This is the battle against evil, a real devil and real principalities (demons). It is a struggle to claim every man, woman, and child. Forever. Now, don’t be afraid. WE WIN!
So why are we as believers in Jesus Christ concerned about this current war, also known as, spiritual warfare? Because we are the front lines to defeat the enemy, stay the losses and kick butt. We win the war (Revelation 20 & 21). God’s kingdom will reign forever however; today we are engaged in the many battles against an enemy whose time is short and who is seething with anger and hate. This is what Ephesians 6 is all about.
God’s vision for this world is Ephesians. Look at Ephesians 1:9-10 (The plan)
9And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment—to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.
The plan is to bring ALL things under Christ. All things! This is why we are in the struggle to bring about God’s vision for all creation including men, women, and children.
Ephesians 6: 10-13 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Paul is writing to the church in Ephesians and to us the church of today, to provide everything we need to succeed in our battles. What we are going to see the different weapons and protections our God provides to defeat the enemy.
I know this sounds a lot like church preaching, so let’s make it real. Next post: Real battles, right now, and how to wear the armor. Let’s start with the belt. It is a funny looking contraption.
See you next Friday for more on The Battle Cry.

Lynn has wonderfully mapped out the steps we all need to walk through to develop and grow this vital relationship with Him. This was the Lord’s intent for her transformation journey all along, and His intent for you too. Here she has spelled out the spiritual truths behind the principles and talked us through how she applied them. These truths are universally applicable to us all, though as the details of our lives, situations and hearts will be different, we will apply them differently. - Reader Review from Barnes & Noble.
