It's Your Turn. Share Your Wisdom

FriendsHi SUM Nation,

I'm traveling this week. I have bunch of sticks in the fire and am scrambling but it's all good. Our God is a good Father.

I know that our "Church Without Walls" is filled with Godly and spiritually wise people. So I thought that I would invite you to impart your wisdom with one of our readers.

Do you remember the SUMits Survey that many of you responded to months ago? I asked the question:

What topics cold we write about that we haven't covered for we could cover again to encourage you?

Here is one inquiry. I haven't written about this subject before and it is really a good question. If you have Godly wisdom and experience, please share your encouragement in the comments.

Thanks for helping a girl out! I LOVE you all so much. Hugs, Lynn

Q: One thing that hasn't been covered yet (I don't think) is friendships. I find my SuM keeps me tethered to a very secular friendship group, and I can't really easily build friendships with Christians with my husband because then he's left out of what bonds me and my Christian friends. The area of Christian and non-Christian friendships, with my SuM, is complicated for me and causes me great angst!

What do you Struggle With in your "Uniquely" Yoked Marriage?

Hi Everybody, Wondering if y’all could help me again…. You were awesome a week ago when you shared your thoughts in this post. I heart you!

Gold silver bands  I am thinking I have never written down the unique struggles that unequally yoked spouses face. So, I thought I would ask. This may be a tough assignment because many spiritual struggles manifest themselves in many ways in a marriage relationship. But, tell me what you think is a unique marriage struggle that is specific to your faith and your spouse’s unbelief.

This is what comes to my mind off the bat.

  • Attending church alone.
  • Organized churches rarely provide support or teaching specific to our unique marriages.
  • Social events (list some specifics for me on this one) such as attending a church event and what it’s like when you go with your spouse to a social event such as a Superbowl party where no one is a believer.
  • Language (cussing and or expression)
  • What about media choices????

Okay, let’s hear your thoughts on this and be real.

We 'll take a look at some of these issues in the future and some awesome scripture the Lord has placed heavily on my mind of late.

THANK YOU so very much for making SUM a place where we each help one another grow closer to Jesus and to honor Him through our marriages. I love you so very much.

Be blessed, Lynn

PS. I’m waiting for the Lord to lead me about our next series. Until He directs, watch for some randomness around here. *grin*….. and randomness can sometimes be really great.

Have a great week. Write me if you need prayer covering. Hugs, Lynn

Please Help Me Out!

I would be extra appreciative if you could give me your opinion. Also, in the comments can you tell me how and when you ask your spouse to attend Christmas Eve services. What works and what doesn't. Thank you.... Thank you.... THANK YOU. Be blessed, Lynn

Think About It

I have a question for you.

How would God vote? Knowing how God answers this question has big implications in our life and definitely in our marriage. So I want to explore this provocative question.

Please vote and give me your scripture references. Let's understand more about God and His great love for the lost and the saved. Have a great week. I am looking forward to some spirited conversation. Be Blessed, Lynn
