First LOVE

image from www.spirituallyunequalmarriage.comWe have been chatting about suffering. It can truly blow up your mind to consider the reasons of God for suffering.

Not too long ago the Lord spoke to me about my unequally yoked marriage. It was likely in a challenging season when I was complaining to God about His delay in saving my pre-believer. (To even write that causes me a degree of shame. Sheesh.)

This was the Lord’s unexpected but powerful reply. Hosea 2:14

But then I will win her back once again.

I will lead her into the desert

and speak tenderly to her there.

15 I will return her vineyards to her

and transform the Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope.

She will give herself to me there,

as she did long ago when she was young,

when I freed her from her captivity in Egypt. —NLT

The Lord then spoke to me, Lynn, do you see? Can you comprehend this story?

My friends, I understood in that moment how beautiful was the love relationship between God and His people. When the people of God were freed from Egypt they were utterly dependent upon the Lord’s Presence. He walked among them. He fed them. With the exception of the “golden cow” incident He adored and protected them. After the mad cow mess, they quickly came to their senses and loved Him with their full hearts for decades in the desert. It was priceless. It was a beautiful, fulfilling relationship for Him and for the people. I’m not surprised, as I think about it, that God delayed their entry into the Promised Land. He knew what would happen.

The easy life would cause them to pursue independence. Comparison to other peoples of the land would woo them away from God as their King thus enticing them to desire an earthly King. They would grow fat and distant from God because their lives would become easier. All this became true. Thus, the Lord’s broken heart cries out through Hosea. He longs for the years of their desert suffering because in the struggle, she (fully) gave herself to Him.

I wonder if the Lord tarried or delayed the Israelites crossing into the land because He knew they would leave Him? The sweet love and utter dependence upon Him in the wilderness was everything to Him…. AND He knew that people are their highest, best and blessed when they are in utter dependence…..

Things that make you go….hmmmmmm.

Is our Promised Land, our spouse’s salvation, the same? Does the Lord tarry because He is in love with you and me? Does he believe that our desert experience will diminish because we aren’t so persistent in our prayers for our spouse? Does He know that we may become lax in training up the children to faith?

Is the Promised Land really of any value if we leave the lover of our soul in the desert years?

The passage in Hosea calls to us. It’s the Lord’s broken heart. He speaks to us who walk in the desert years. Don’t forget the suffering that birthed our love. More often than not, it’s the suffering that draws us to the heart of God.

The Promise of His Covenant

6a00d83451ee9f69e20147e108e6bb970b-500pi
SUMites, I pray this week of fasting has brought you encouragement and strength this week. I wish I could have fasted more, but my pain medication only allowed me to fast a couple mornings. I am encouraged however that even in the midst of this recovery, which has made focusing on God very challenging, I was still able to hear His heart for our community. That right there knocked another lie out of my spiritual life. For that I am grateful. He has shown me that even in such places of challenge when I don't feel close to Him, He is still speaking and He will make sure I hear Him.

Our own Cindy C. shared this profound truth perfectly: "Trust God's hold on you MORE than your hold on God." (Thank you, Cindy!)

Now, the rest of Abba's message for us is in Jeremiah 33, where I started on Tuesday. I am sharing here only the key verses so read the entire chapter if you can and seek God to bring this promise into your heart and home.

Then this city (our homes) will bring me joy, glory, and honor before all the nations of the earth! The people of the world will see all the good I do for my people, and they will tremble with awe at the peace and prosperity I provide for them. — Jeremiah 33:9

The joyful voices of bridegrooms and brides will be heard again, along with the joyous songs of people bringing thanksgiving offerings to the Lord. They will sing, ‘Give thanks to the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, for the Lord is good. His faithful love endures forever!’ For I will restore the prosperity of this land to what it was in the past, says the Lord. — Jeremiah 33:11

And this will be its name: ‘The Lord Is Our Righteousness.’ (Yahweh Tsidqenu) —Jeremiah 33:16 (Prophetic reference to 2 Cor. 5:21: We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus)

“This is what the Lord says: If you can break my covenant with the day and the night so that one does not follow the other, only then will my covenant with my servant David be broken. Only then will he no longer have a descendant to reign on his throne. The same is true for my covenant with the Levitical priests who minister before me." — Jeremiah 33:20-21 (The covenant with David was the prophetic word and promise of Jesus coming.)

My friends, as I read this part, Holy Spirit whispered John 3:16 to my heart. We know this verse well...

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. — John 3:16-17

And this is God's reassurance that He will do what He has said. My friends, I hear God speaking this to us right now, that He is faithful and nothing will stop or hinder the promise He has given us.

But this is what the Lord says: I would no more reject my people than I would change my laws that govern night and day, earth and sky. I will never abandon the descendants of Jacob or David, my servant, or change the plan that David’s descendants will rule the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Instead, I will restore them to their land and have mercy on them.” — Jeremiah 33:25-26

SUMites, this is a powerful promise. Jesus is the final covenant. For two weeks now 2 Peter 3:9 has shown up over and over again. Our God has not been slow to answer our prayers for our pre-believers. He's just been setting things up for the right time so the revelation of His covenant (Jesus) to our pre-believers would be so full that they would turn to Him with their entire hearts (wholehearted!), just as He said in Jeremiah 24:7.

I will give them hearts that recognize me as the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me wholeheartedly. — Jeremiah 24:7

I believe with my whole heart that time is now, SUMites. It's our harvest time! Hallelujah and Praise Jesus! Amen!

The Throne of Grace, Part Two

My friends, at the end of my post on Wednesday I said I had another stunning piece of this treasure hunt we are on. Below is a page from my Sanctuary Bible (yes, the very one Abba led me to) and it holds an excerpt from a book titled, Never Alone by David and Teresa Ferguson. Read it and then meet me below this new way to look at our marriages and pray into them.

IMG_0014

First, I want to speak to those of you who are separated and whose spouse has walked away from God. As I've shared in the past, my heart is heavy for you and remains so. My heart and prayers are with you. And today, I want to speak a message to you that I feel Jesus wants you to know more than anything.

Jesus understands your betrayal and rejection better than anyone. Read the accounts of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and you will see that Jesus was betrayed and abandoned by those closest to Him. And even in the moment that He bore our sins to death, He felt abandoned by Abba Father. So, my friend, when I say He knows your pain, understand that He KNOWS it intimately as He has lived it. His compassion for you is great. Receive His comfort and peace today, in the mighty and overcoming name of Jesus.

As I read the devotion above for the first time, my spirit stirred dramatically at the thought of loving my spouse as an act of love and worship of Jesus. It makes sense. We've talked about how loving our spouses unconditionally honors God.

But the Fergusons' words took it deeper for me. And it is part of that grace flowing through us to our pre-believers that we've been talking about. I am seeking Jesus for more wisdom and understanding of how I can minister and love my husband and, in turn, minister to our sweet Jesus. Wow, just stunning to think about...

Will you pray this with me?

King Jesus, You are so worthy to receive glory, power, and blessings. Lord, we bless You! As part of Your creation, we declare that we want to bring You the pleasure You deserve. We want to minister to You with loving comfort, attention, acceptance, appreciation, support, encouragement, affection, respect, security, and approval through loving our spouse in this manner. Lord, we are in awe that You are such an intimate part of our mismatched marriage! And we worship You today as the only One worthy to receive glory, honor and praise. In the mighty and compassionate name of Jesus, amen!

Have a wondrous weekend, my friends!

This is Your Divine Destiny. Don't Give It To The devil!

The Ugly Word for 2014                                  Part I
The Key to Powerful Prayer                            Part II
Dream Big!                                                      Part III

Lynn here! I have some crazy but good stuff to share. Here we go!

I believed a lie about my creativity.

On my dream list for this fall I have penned a sacred dream that is precious to my heart. And over the last nine months the devil has done everything to destroy that dream. I became so overwhelmed by the lies of the enemy and spiritual warfare that I handed over my authority over this dream to the lie and it was taken from me.

It pains me to even type these words. Most of the time I believe and live in God’s truth and have been living there for a long time. So to realize that I allowed the devil to steal truth from me, and even worse I believed the lie over what God had to say specifically about this dream, has grieved me greatly.

I’m going to share with you this very private story in the hopes that you find your freedom through it as I did. And with a greater hope that you don’t waste as much time nor experience the heart ache, confusion and pain that I experienced.

My dream came to me on a Sunday morning in early spring of this year. I was at church and we had just finished worship. I sat down, took out my Bible and notebook listening intently to the pastor share his message. And suddenly (remind me to share with you later about … “And suddenlies.”)

And suddenly, a download straight from heaven hit my brain. My pen started whirring across my notebook. Words were flowing, chapters were forming. I drew arrows to connect ideas. I heard God tell me to include such and such in the appendix. He said He wanted a box where He spoke directly to the reader. Chapter content emerged and suddenly…..

…… a book was born.

But this book wasn’t like any other book that I’ve read or written. Oh Wow, Lord…. Just wow!

Today I’m compelled to share this story because the devil almost stole from me, my divine destiny. It wasn’t my brain that came up with the chapters and the appendix, nor the chapter outlines, it was truly God. And to top things off, one day while sitting in church back in May, a guest speaker began to speak. He stopped in the introduction and looked right at me I had only met him for a moment before church. I told him I was preparing to start a new writing project. He said:

Tctv050414 Abner lynn's word

What you just listened to is very personal to me. And as I just listened to it again, I broke down and wept. The grace of God is so overwhelming at times. His favor upon our lives is enormous. How could we be anything other than thankful and full of faith?

Listening to this again just shames me that I listened to the lie about the calling on my life.

BUT NO MORE.

SUMites, my sisters and brothers, what lie has the enemy told you. Where has he taken your creativity? Please, please let me now be the voice of Jesus and tell you to take back your dreams. Take your creativity and use it for His Kingdom. Help your children learn to use their gifts for His glory by watching you use yours. Let your creativity lead your husband and children to faith. Let the world see the greatness in you and they will bend their knee to the King of Kings.

You have more in you than you think. You are stronger than you know. You have angels standing beside you, waiting to fly into motion at your mere whisper of command. God has prepared you for a profound, life-fulfilling calling to impact the world.

It only takes a small yes. A Yes when he asks. An ounce of faith. The faith of a mustard seed and you will step into this new adventure that awaits you.

I’m convinced that we believers are living on the leading edge of the MOST profound time of God’s history….. EVER. I think we are poised to see God show His signs, and miracles.

I know this because I have already witnessed Jesus heal people through prayer and the laying on of hands. I have felt His healing power flow from my hands.(What??? This just still blows my mind) All of us can and will see miracles and more. It starts with one brave step. One small yes. This is our moment to take back what the enemy has stolen and use our God given gifts for the Kingdom.

Upon this day, Rosh Hashanah, Jesus we ask for Your great favor upon our lives. Show us where fear and unbelief has allowed the enemy authority over our lives. Show us how to close those doors to fear and unbelief and the devil. Teach us to say to you firmly with a supernatural faith, YES. I want my gifts of creativity back. I want to be used by you to impact people. I want to love so big, so lavish that I see every person who I meet as you see them. I want to never be offended by anyone again. I want to love You with all that I have and love people.

Lord, lead me and teach me to step into my divine calling and ministry THIS YEAR. I ask for you to place an unquenchable hunger in my heart, mind and soul to know You more. I want the More… More of you. More of you. More of You. I ask for Your gifts. Gifts of wisdom and revelation (Eph 1:17) Gifts of love, joy, peace…. (Gal 5:22). Lord, I want to see You move on this planet this next year in a way humans have never seen before. May all that I do bring honor, glory and love to Your heart. In Jesus powerful and redeeming name. Amen.

I love you my brothers and sisters, so very much. It’s a divine privilege to walk with you into the months ahead and rejoice as we see and participate in what God has planned for our hearts, our homes and the world.

Your Breakthrough Is Here - Passover

Hi SUMite Family,

This week I’m departing from our Joshua and The Walls series. Today I want to share my thoughts and prayer about Passover. And on Friday, I’m sharing a glimpse I had of The Wedding of the Son of God and His Bride. (It’s way cool and perfect for Good Friday. Be sure to stop in then.)

What is Passover? Passover is a festival of freedom. It commemorates the Israelites’ Exodus from Egypt, and their transition from slavery to freedom. The main ritual of Passover is the Seder, which occurs on the first night.

As believers we know we are not under the Old Testament law. We are living in the age of grace because of the blood sacrifice of the Lamb of God, Christ Jesus. And as a person who loves God and ponders His ways and thoughts, I’m thinking that many of the ancient feasts and celebrations that He originated still hold meaning and expectation.

This year’s Passover holds significance to me personally. You see, since December I have been praying for many of you in this SUMite family. Many of you by name. And I mean ALL of you, even if you have never made any personal contact with me nor left your name in a comment. I have prayed for you.

And this is why.

Breakthrough is coming for many of you with THIS Passover.

At the end of last year many of my brothers and sisters in Christ were in the midst of enduring and trying to just survive tremendous spiritual warfare. Many of you have battled a life that seems to have run over you. Circumstances have left you defeated and bereft of hope. And you have been in this dark pit for months now. Many of you are specifically facing crippling financial stresses. There are many who are wrangling with overwhelming anxiety, dark depression, abusive spouses and heartbreak because of wondering children and a litany of other demonic tortures.

Well my friends, I’ve been praying for you. I’ve been contending for you. For months. I’ve sacrificed in the quiet of the early morning as I beseeched the God of the universe to silence the enemy and bring freedom to the many of you who are held captive and as prisoners of this life’s evils.

My prayers began in December and as I marched through January I began to hear the Lord tell me they will lift. There is a change, a shift, which is ordained of heaven that will happen at Passover.

THAT’S TOMORROW!

I’ve been praying for a breakthrough. A breakthrough for many. I’ve been contending for this shift over the home of _________________________ (insert your name because I’ve prayed it.) My breakthrough, although contended for in private and sacrificed in prayer, over the past months will also bring breakthrough to many others. MANY OTHERS.

THAT’S how our God’s Kingdom rolls!!!!!!

The honest prayers of one can bring breakthrough for hundreds. I earnestly believe this with all of my heart. So today my friends, if you need this breakthrough to move into a new season with the Lord, declare it now and out loud.

Father God, I receive this breakthrough on this day. This is the day that You Passover this earth and free me from the grips of the enemy. Lord, and free others from the terror of the evil one. Today, Lord, I receive my deliverance just as you delivered our ancestors long ago. You freed them from the tyranny of slavery and gave them a land flowing with milk and honey. Today, Lord, I too declare in front of the Kingdom of God my freedom day.

I will promise to seek you with all of my heart from this day forward. I make a new and lasting covenant to pursue you with a relentless hunger. I will also step out of my bondage and make it my life’s purpose to free others who are on the road behind me.

Today, I rebuke and break off any stronghold or bondage of the enemy that has kept me from stepping into my rightful inheritance as a child of the Most High God. And I slam the door shut on any lies I have believed that the devil has used to tell me anything that is not truth about myself and my circumstances.

Lord, My Holy God, I receive my freedom by the holy blood of the Passover Lamb, Jesus Christ, Your Son. And I will live all of my days from this day forward, pursuing peace, joy and love. I will choose to love you with my whole heart and spend the rest of my life loving people.

I declare and decree my deliverance, my future that is abundant, and ask today that you show me now where you have made my path straight that I may get on with bringing Your Kingdom to earth.

In the most powerful name in all creation and the heavenly realms, Jesus, The Christ. The Passover Lamb of God. AMEN.

I have contended for you. I absolutely believe many of you will begin to see hints of the freedom that has just been released upon your life today. My friends, now give thanks to our Papa, Jesus and the Dove for you are been released to receive your full inheritance. In Jesus name.

I love you. I will always contend for your lives, marriage and children. I will never stop standing in the gap when you are weak and unable. I am your friend and your prayer warrior. Your sister in Christ, Lynn

It's About A Wedding. It's About Covenant

image from www.spirituallyunequalmarriage.comMy friends, today I want to finish my story that began a few weeks ago. Here are the links to the previous posts:

 It's All About A Wedding

What Is Covenant? And I Propose???

If you remember I shared with you how Dineen and I met, the journey of our friendship and our ministry beginnings. Let me pick up now where I left off. In January Dineen and I attended a conference together and it was on the last night of the conference, I heard God speak to me heart, “Lynn, you need to wash Dineen’s feet.” I will remind you that for a month God focused my heart and study on learning about covenant. Finally, this was the night God called me to put my faith into action.

So as we arrived back at our hotel at 11:00 p.m., I said to Dineen, “I just heard God tell me to wash your feet.” She looked at me.

“But, I know we are both too tired right now to do that. Let’s get some sleep,” I said.

The next morning, however, in the shower, I clearly hear the Lord speak again, “Wash her feet.”

“Okay, Lord, I will wash her feet.”

I finished getting ready and packed my suitcase to leave. I say to Dineen, “God told me again this morning, to wash your feet. Since you have just had a shower, I’m going to remove your shoes and rub lotion on your feet.”

She sat down. I removed her shoes. I kneeled before her and I spoke looking up into her eyes and I made a covenant before God to always love Dineen and to protect our friendship. She got teary. I got teary. We then wiped our eyes and giggled.

Then it was off to the airport.

My friends, within days the entire army of hell was deployed to destroy us. So much came at us and our friendship that I could have never anticipated. But we have persevered. Why, because I have sworn an oath before God that I would always love Dineen.

Satan HATES covenant. He hates it because God’s relationships are covenant, blood-bought, eternal relationships. That’s why our adversary deploys relentless pressure, temptation, confusion, and evil into our world to destroy marriage and family. It’s marriage and family that model God’s Kingdom family. Do you see this?

The minute I spoke into the realms that I was entering into a covenant relationship, WHAM! Targeted and arsenals delivered….  Selah!

It’s covenant that scares the devil. Because God is Covenant.

God will never leave us nor forsake us. And He wants the same for our relationships with one another on earth. Because it’s covenant-commitments that UNIFY the Bride, defeat the enemy and change the world.

I’m reminded of Kris Vallatton’s words from the conference:

*So many people are looking for their destiny when they should be looking for their people (family).
*What began as an accident needs to be now done on purpose.
*Cohabitating: You are in it for what you get.
*Covenant: You are in it for what you give.
*Find your family.

Covenant relationship is not for the faint of heart. You can’t withstand the devil’s assaults if you aren’t equipped with the love of God first. Covenant relationship with God empowers you to enter into covenant with people. And I’m convinced that when we stick in there with a difficult marriage, or any covenant relationship, you will reap the blessings that come from triumph. Covenant relationship flies in the face of everything our culture preaches. Our throw away, I’m done with you, society cannot understand this kind of love and commitment. But God is looking to His people to model a love that doesn’t make since. A love that is patient, and a love that is kind. A love that does not envy, that does not boast, and is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. A love that does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. A Love that always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (1 Corinthians 13)

Today, it’s imperative that you pray, right here and now for your covenant relationships. Please pray in the comments and I will contend with you for your relationships, your marriage and family.

I love you my SUMite family. I truly love you, Lynn

It's All About A Wedding!

Hello SUMites,

Lynn here. I’m posting on Wednesday today as I’m traveling the remainder of the week. Teresa will be sharing a fascinating interview on Friday. Dineen will be back in March. Woo Hoo!! Thank you Teresa T. for filling in this month. I love you my friend. And we appreciate your heart and time. Hugs, SUMites!

I’m heading out to South Bend, IN today as I was invited to be a guest on The Harvest Show. I’m chuckling a bit because this California girl is heading into the Polar Vortex. My friends, I don’t even own clothing that is sufficient for the temperatures they are forecasting for Thursday. Ahem, the high 8 degrees and the low, -7. *OUCH*.. I want to tour Notre Dame on Thursday, as I have the afternoon free. It will be snowing. Hmmmmmm. On second thought, I may have the time of my life. May have to throw a few snowballs. I love being child-like. *grin*

Okay, watch for travel adventures on Twitter and my Facebook page (friend me)

Onward….

It’s all about a wedding!!!!

Bride and Boquet By nuchylee, published on 27 November 2012This book, the Bible…. It’s all about a wedding. Over the next few weeks I want to share with you my thoughts on the wedding, the Bride, Covenant and the notes I took from the conference I attended in January. I find it fascinating in that I’ve feel as though for the first time in my life, I’ve truly come to understand and glimpse what “Covenant” is about, the implications of entering in, and the power within a covenant.

I will tell you now that I’m still learning as God leads this out so as I learn more, I will share.

This study of covenant began as one of the speakers, Kris Vallatton, spoke on covenant at the conference that Dineen and I attended in January. Let me share just a few notes from that session.

*So many people are looking for their destiny when they should be looking for their people (family).

*What began as an accident needs to be now done on purpose.

*Cohabitating: You are in it for what you get.

*Covenant: You are in it for what you give.

*Find your family.

The entire hour that Kris spoke all I could think about is two things; my marriage and children (family) and my SUMite family.

I started to ponder at what point I turned in my years of marriage from a “what I get out of this” kind of marriage to “what I give to this marriage?” Let me tell you that it will likely be a life-time for me to ever be completely selfless in relationships. Truly. Are you completely selfless in relationships? Even in our relationship with God?? But, I have come far from the early years. And covenant now holds a deeper meaning and power in my mind and heart.

So let’s talk about the wedding. In the beginning Genesis 2:24 the two became what?

In Canaan Jesus performs His first miracle. It was at a what?

The parable of the Ten Virgins…. Who was coming for them?

The very last book of the Bible…. Revelations 22:17  The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” …

It’s about a wedding. It’s about a Bride. It’s about a Groom and it’s about the Father. My friends, let’s wrap our minds around Covenant because it’s purpose and power is at the heart of the Word of God.

Okay, I have so much more to say on this. Today, share with me your thoughts on the wedding. If you remember in October I experienced an open vision of this amazing Groom, read about that here (first post).

Love you… Hope to see you as I travel this week. Please pray for me as I truly get nervous right before the shows. I love you my friends. I have a heart covenant with you.. It’s true. It’s real. It’s eternal. Hugs, Lynn

PS. I have an amazing story about covenant that I will share next week. Love you.
