Thankful Thursday - Make it Your Choice!

1 Corinthians 13 4-7 It is a choice you make!

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love is patient. Today it is my choice, I will be patient with my spouse and daughter.

Love is kind. Out of the great love of Christ which fills me, I will seek to love instead of hate. I will aim to show genuine kindness to every person I interact with face-to-face, on the phone and through the internet.

It does not envy. Here and now, I will focus on the rich blessings God has poured into my life. I will desire contentment over the fantasy of greener grass on the next hill.

Love does not boast. Daily I will seek honest assessment of my motives compared to the Word of God. I surrender my agenda for God’s will. Love_ring_bibleI will love my Lord through obedience and a humble heart.

Love is not proud. I desire more of You Lord and less of me. Keep me from pride and should I receive any praise, let it rightly be redirected to You.

Love is not rude. I will decide daily to pray James 1:19. I want my words to encourage and never hurt.

Love is not self-seeking. Lord, today, I will seek your desire for my day. I will choose to fulfill my daily assignment from You.

Love is not easily angered. I will not fly off the handle or be easily upset.
I can do this through the power of Jesus Christ.

Love keeps no record of wrongs. Every month, week, day, even hour-by-hour, I choose to forgive each person who falls short of my expectations, who talks about me behind my back, who criticize, or harms me in any way.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. I want to live in the truth. This day I seek to know the truth and live it.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. This day, I will trust in You, hope in You and persevere in the truth. I know that You will protect me along the way.

1 Corinthians 13 4-7

It's a choice we make every day. Happy Thursday. Be Blessed, Lynn

Such a lovely post my friend, be blessed.

oh man! How come you always know what to say?

Oh Lynn, How lovely!!

Oh Lynn, How lovely!!

Loved this Lynn; it's so powerful!

Yes Lynn AMEN double folded AMEN for Love 13 that I profess but don't live very well! It was easy for me to say that the other one was not abiding or loving me the way 1Cor.13 says we should love...but when I examine my own ACTions of love, I'm much better with strangers and even strangers that are unloveable or strangers that irritated me, or even strangers that did not deserve it. It is a matter of CHOICE and daily choosing to ACT as we believe not as we feel or even say but how Jesus has shown as to Love Him, Love others as we love ourselves. I do the worse there. I hung 1 Cor 13 on the fridge to make a statement on how LOVE should be actually it was meant for me and I never knew it...I used it as a rule to measure but need to check and self evaluate: Am I showing LOVE by being patient? Am I keeping tracks of wrongs or showing LOVE? Am I easily angered? Oh Lord, please forgive me!

Lynn,
