Thankful Thursday - A Living Hope

Praise to God for a Living Hope
1Peter 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…
As we closeout 2007 and mark the passing into a new year, my soul fills with excitement. I start to wonder about the plans the Lord has made ready for me. I overflow with hope thinking about lives that will be forever changed through our Lord Jesus. I have hope that His name will be honored in the year ahead.
I have hope that 2008 could be the year of my husband’s salvation. I have hope God will keep watch over my children. I have hope in spite of all the evil in this world I will see the good. I have hope that the Lord will move mightily in many marriages in 2008. I BELIEVE He will!
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
Thank you for joining me this Thursday to honor our Lord. I pray you are surrounded by His presence and that 2008 is filled with moments with the King. Be blessed, Lynn

Greetings, Lynn! I wanted to tell you thank you for the awesome Thanksgiving tablecloth idea. Our family began this tradition this year. It was fun and we look forward to continuing it every Thanksgiving.
I wanted to share with you one of our Christmas traditions. The kids and I sit down before Thanksgiving and begin making handmade ornaments. We print messages on them- scriptures and things like "God loves you." The kids (ages 4, 7, 9, 11) come up with their own. Then, beginning on "Black Friday" we hand out these simple gifts to check out cashiers, waiters, gas station attendents- everyone in service positions- wishing them a Merry Christmas and thanking them for working during the holidays. It has been a treasured tradition for about 7 years in our family. It is a way to spread the joy of Jesus and kindness in a particularly stressful time for people in these positions.
Happy New Year!

Amen! I have great hope for 2008 too! And that hope is grounded in Job 19:25--I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth!

Lynn,
May the LORD continue to bless you abundantly. I will pray for your husband's salvation. I am in the same situation.
God could have easily softened the Pharoah's heart in Exodus. However, HE wanted the Isrealites had to put their faith on HIM, and no one else. After reading this, I realize that it is in HIS timing when our "temporary" unsaved husbands come to HIM.

Amen! Praying for the salvation of those husbands too.
