What’s God Up to Now?
You’re not going to believe this. Or maybe you will. Saturday evening I heard a still soft voice.
“Invite him to church.”
I paused. Or should I say, I froze. “Huh? Lord, is that you?”
“Invite him to church.”
“But why? He’ll just say no. Or laugh at me.”
“Invite him to church.”
“Well, okay. Whatever you want.” I laughed. Like Sarah when she heard God (appearing as the trinity) tell Abraham that by the time next year she would bear him a son.
Can you still hear me laughing?
I did exactly as God asked. I was happy too. I like being obedient. I like being in God’s will. And I like the idea that one day my dear hubby will actually say “yes” to this question.
Not this time though. And he did laugh. Maybe because I made a little game of it. Or because we both know how ludicrous the idea is at the moment.
But he doesn’t know what I know. That’s what really has me laughing. For joy. The day is coming, and soon. I know. I. Just. Know. And I believe God’s promises.
Now I realize this was more for me than my hubby. God asked me to do something a bit uncomfortable. And I’m glad I did. I have no idea what God’s up to at the moment, but I’m determined to be obedient in whatever he asks me to do. Even if it sounds ridiculous.
Sarah laughed but wound up a mother in her old age. God proved faithful. I laughed when God told me to invite my hubby to church. Wonder what’s going to happen next?
I’ll keep you posted.
Praying and believing,
Dineen

Dineen, Isn't it wonderful when God give you a glimpse of His plan? God did that for me with my husband and it made the waiting easier. I am praying for your husband. Take care and God bless, Cory

Dineen,
Your love relationship with Jesus shines through in every word you write. You constantly inspire me.
I am laughing along with you for the joy of the Lord is our strength. One day, Sister, one day, they will see our Jesus and all of our prayers will be worth it.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Love and hugs, Lynn

Wow, I've just discovered this site by looking on a friend's blog who is also unequally yoked.
How fantastic to know there is a blog for women who find it tough. This was really enlightening as a post. This has happened to me but, unlike you, I didn't laugh. Guess I didn't have a sense of humour that day. Instead I felt really annoyed that God had "led me on". Anyway, I'm over it now and still praying for my husband but I find it tougher and tougher to believe for the miracle.
I'll visit here again though. Just for the encouragement to keep going.

Ladies, once again you bless me with your comments. The waiting is the hardest part and the time we easily lose hope and fall prey to the enemy. I'm honored, as Lynn is, that we can be a source of encouragement. I KNOW that's part of the reason God has given me a glimpse of what's to come.
Bunnygirl, I'm so very glad you found us. Let us know if we can be praying for you in any specific way. Lynn and I are honored to server you all in prayer.
Blessings!
