So Be It
I stood in a circle of anticipation. All week long I’d secretly hoped to hear another word from God. I’d asked him to speak to me, if that was his will. Now the last day of the Christian writer’s conference I’d attended all week had come, and my anticipation had peeked to bursting.
Would God speak to me again as he had last time?
Scroll back one year. Same day. Same conference. Same song.
Chorus
Your name is a strong and mighty tower.
Your name is a shelter like no other.
Your name, let the nations sing it louder.
‘Cuz nothing has the power to save.
Like your name.
God spoke to me last year during this song, saying it was “time to prepare.” He told me to pray more and claim the name of Jesus for my husband. The final year in a prophecy He’d given me six years ago was about to start.
The final year culminating in my husband’s salvation.
So there I stood again this past Sunday, singing the same song, six months into that final year. Would God have something new to tell me? Had I been obedient, done enough, prayed enough so far? I would accept silence, knowing He remained faithful, and that I would do the same.
Soft and quiet, I sensed his words. My singing faltered as we repeated the chorus. Three words. So much power.
So be it.
No more. No less. My spirit quickened, and I knew. God had spoken into existence—just as He had creation—the beginning of my husband’s transformation. Awe filled me in that precious moment and still remains.
My time of waiting continues and I praise this awesome and faithful God who deemed my heart’s request worthy of his voice. The day is coming. God has said so.
So be it.
Praying and BELIEVING,
Dineen
