The breast piece is held in place through the belt the sword hangs from the belt. Notice the belt protects the, ahem, privates. The belt supports the cute little skits they are wearing.
Without the belt the entire armor of protection would fall apart.
Ephesians 6:14 (New International Version)
14a Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist,
Truth is the core of our faith. In order to engage the enemy we must know that he is the father of all lies.
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
Lies keep us away from God. The enemy's most successful deception was and still is; sin is good. It is a lie that sin is fun and life is better when it is full of sex, envy, greed, vengeance, and selfishness.
Lie: Life should always serve me. (selfishness)
Truth: Selfishness destroys your life, relationships, health, and soul.
Lie: Money is the most important thing in life.
Truth: Relationship are move valuable than money, possessions, cars, a home, 401k, clothes, looks…..
Lie: You can punish someone who hurt you when you are bitter and angry.
Truth: Your hurt becomes deeper.
Lie: Lies will keep you out of trouble.
Truth: Lies enslave you.
Lie: God cannot love you.
Truth: Jesus Christ stood in the gap and God the Father loves and accepts you for who you are.
Lie: Jesus Christ is not real
Truth: Jesus is alive and is living in millions today.
Truth conquers the lie.
When we as believers, know the truth and respond with the truth the enemy is defeated. God’s truth is absolute and it will be proven out time and again.
So how do we clothe ourselves with the belt of truth? It is by reading God’s word daily. I cannot plead with you enough to read the scriptures every single day. Reading God’s word followed by prayer is a daily dawning of the belt of truth.
Be blessed, Lynn
